You can't have a "co-CDMA" phone, it's either GSM or CDMA. An iPhone on Verizon could look, feel and work exactly the same as iPhone on AT&T, but the former would have to have different internals.

A phone can have Both a gsm and CDMA radio inside. Rimm did it with a blackberry. Getting it small enough and power efficient enough to make apple happy is the challenge.
I think it's totally plausible that a white iPhone will show up in the Verizon iPhone annoucement at CES.
To me it all fits. Shortly after iPhone 4 went in sale and ATT changed it's plan prices and it's ETF's ( early termination fees ) the white Att iPhone was pulled from distribution. While I believe there were production issues, remember that Apple took reservations. Why would they take reservations then screw their customers unless the white phone itself could become something Att did not or now won't get a white iPhone this year.
Clearly anyone knowing Verizons on sale and marketing demands were not going to be met by Apple -- that put Apple in a position to offer Verizon certain exclusives. Think bout it. Verizon is not going to just market the same configuration as Att -- that would be humiliating.
Also another important point -- NO ONE guessed, speculated, or rumored that Verizon would get the iPad. Nobody. That seemed to come out of left field and fast. Notice that the contract prices are different, and no CDMA version, yet....
Bottom line - I'm going to the Verizon key note at CES. I'll bet big money that the first thing out of the CEO's mouth is iPhone 4 plus it in white and other differences over Att. Wouldn't be surprised to hear a CDMA iPad and iPod touch,
A few of my friends are waiting for the white one too...
iphone 4 will probably keep selling even when iphone5 is introduced when the 3GS model becomes discontinued and the whole product line shifts up one so it's probably still ok for Apple to release the white version. Added that if iphone5 also keeps the same shell design as iphone4 then eventually releasing the white one would be inevitable so spending time fixing the hardware flaws and overcoming manufacturing difficulties of the current model is just part and parcel of the process.
I know a lot of people assume that for apple, releasing a white delayed iphone4 6 months before a new one is going to be announced is a waste of time but compare that to other phone manufacturers, they have new models being announced the day after the last batch of next gen phones are shipped.
May have already been said...and this is coming from someone who had the white iPhone 3Gs (now an iPhone 4) and a white iMac and used to have a white MacBook (Sold)
I've finally outgrown the white. For the longest time, I liked the difference of the the Apple white as opposed to the corporate Funeral black and the pall bearer gray of the HP's, Dells, IBM's, etc., of this world. But now I have sort of cottoned to the aluminum look of the current iMacs, MBA's, etc.
Best
PS. I personally don't think Apple will change the design of the iPhone 4 until late next year...the CDMA version will be exactly the same as the current iPhone 4! Think of the negative press if they made any changes! And law suits, btw!
Wanna make a bet on the side that they don't change the design of the iPhone in 2011? Not just not changing the antenna, but also not changing the overall design itself, other than color and internal specs.

While most non-Apple computers are "funeral black" these days, lately HP and Dell, to name a few, have gotten creative with their computers. Finally. :P
Considering that the iPhone comes out in the summer, waiting for the white iPhone 4 to come out in the spring so you can buy it means that you are somewhat wealthy and unhindered by the cost of getting an iPhone when you're not eligible for an upgrade and/or stupid, in all honesty.
At least, that's my opinion... but I do stand by it.
Considering that we don't know for sure when the iPhone 5 is going to be released...
As we have heard, white is difficult to get right in this particular case. So, once they finally get it right, I expect Apple to sort of take their revenge and release a whole line-up of colors for the next-gen iPhone (Ã* la iPod). It's easy to make different colors once you have white.

How about a $100 to charity of choice bet?
Will it be called the iPhone 4S?
I'm not being stupid I'm being smart... It's an alliteration!

I'm Asian... 3rd generation Asian American.... and I get it... do you have a problem with Asians?
He's just riffing on the "Apple against the world" meme.
Don't take it personally. He could have said "those Android types just don't get it" in another context.
The reference to asians is purely circumstantial, and has nothing to do with his point. The point is "us vs. them".
