I don't really care if we're stupid or not. Our economy, even in a lull, is stronger than the rest of the world's combined at peak. And yes, that's the big issue here. We don't have regents looking for things to brag about. Our government would like to be a bunch of regents, but luckily there are enough checks and balances to prevent that for the time being. So our measure of power really comes from our economy. That's what really matters. And it's not as if we can go tell each other "stop producing better than the lazy europeans, because it makes them insanely jealous" and that it would actually have impact.
Do I think Americans are, in general, mislead? (not stupid) Yes. Do I think the Europeans are mislead? Even more so. But regardless of how dumb or mislead we are, we can pretty much lead you folks around on a string because of our economy. If you don't like that, vote for people who believe in capitalism. Whining about it on AI isn't going to help you.
