Deals are now live in the Australian Apple Store. $51 off iPads, iPod touch and $121 off most macs except the low end MacBook air and white MacBook. Many accessories discounted too.
Am I the only one that thinks it's kind of trashy and rude when a Mac Tech blog or rumour site puts up "stories" about "great deals at store X, Y, or Z?"
It's not only rude to approximately half of your readership who don't live in the USA and don't give a rat's petuti about American Thanksgiving or "Black Friday" (and what a horrible, horrible name that is!), it's just plain old boring and lame.
I could see the logic of putting up a notice in the forum for your users (at least those who care), but making it a "story" on the front page is lame, lame, lame IMO.
One of the reasons I never visit the forums here is that I don't care to talk endlessly about everything Apple, (like sales, and who wants to trade crap, and what everyone's opinion about stuff is). I come here to the front page only, to read topical and current stories and rumours about Apple technology and forthcoming Apple products and services.
This is not that.
Agreed, and it's interesting to see that AI went back and added an extra paragraph after the initial article was published, which states, in part:
"MacMall, which recently received an 87 point "recommended" reseller rating from Consumer Reports, is offering instant discounts, while many of MacConnection's savings require customers to participate in mail-in-rebates."
AI did this, it appears, to push readers towards MacMall, with whom they have an ongoing advertising and promotion deal. Yet they didn't event note that the article had been updated with the new paragraph that spreads FUD against the price leader in the category.
Highly irregular from a journalistic standpoint to be pushing an advertiser over another site, but that's what happens when money invades the reporting side of the house, as it appears to have done of late at AI.

1) Where are the AI stats saying that only half are from the US?
2) Considering it?s a US-based site, about a US-based company, in a nation with the highest GDP, and that (by your assesment) gets half it?s readers from the US, leaving the other half for about 200* countries to split it?s odd that you would not see how despicable your remark is.
3) It?s also odd that you would come to this site, read the headline, read the blurb, read the article, then post on the article?s thread as if you were somehow tricked into reading what should be obvious by the title. Where is the bait and switch?
4) Canadians have a Thanksgiving, too, usually the 2nd Monday in October so learn a little about it before you post. Also, harvest feasts are common in many cultures throughout history.
5) It?s hard to understand what you could find so offensive about ?Black Friday?. If you think it?s racist, well you?ll be wrong, yet again. The usage is well documented and the event is well known since the Christmas holiday season brings about increased shopping for nations with a heavy Christian following, but since Christianity is far less than ½ of the world?s population (going back to the readership of this site) any advertisements or articles referencing Christmas on the interner are offensive to you.
* Could be higher or lower depending on your definition of a sovereign sate.

A couple interesting tidbits I noticed at Amazon.com.
The resellers there look to be selling new and refurbished iPads at more than the retail price even though Apple’s site lists 24-hours for shipping (i.e.: supply is good). Add to Apple’s Black friday deals those sellers are only selling to unaware shoppers.
The 16Gb WiFi iPad is the #1 selling iPad — also #1 in tablets — which isn’t surprising, but what does surprise me is the 64Gb WiFi+3G iPad is the #2 selling iPad.
The Zenithink ePad has jumped up in the tablet ranks from #11 to #5 since yesterday. I know someone who bought one for his wife (no, he actually does love her) so I’ll get to hear how well it works from him, but I doubt it’ll be any different from some of the reviews of the device.
