Is the United States the only country to have sent someone to the moon? And if not, what other countries have gone, and how many times?

The US is the only country to have gone to the moon. It seems a shame to clutter it with too many flags anyway. The stars and stripes looks quite provocative amongst the stars.

Not to be rude, but I cannot believe you did not know that! It is one of the greatest achievments we have ever accomplished.

I thought that was just a movie.

According to Soviet papers, had they made it to the moon, they had though about detonating a nuclear bomb there.

Wait-- maybe I saw that on X-files.

the US faked the moon landing.... ala capricorn one.

we did not, and cannot go to the moon. they just wanted us to beleive they did, it was the beginning of the arms race with the soviet union that eventually brought their downfall. all based on a lie.

I'm not THAT weird, really! I worked with some NASA designers on mars habitat designs and I became more and more convinced that we cannot overcome the significant hurdles we would need to overcome to travel further than simply orbiting earth. Though you put it conjunction with my disney is evil, martha stewart is satan, and the dinosaurs are a cosmic gag and never existed theories and maybe I am crazy?

The USSR did go to the moon, on numerous occasions, with unmanned craft, but never landed a cosmonaut there. They tried to pull off a 'first' by landing a craft (Luna 15) there with the intention of bringing back Moon rock, during the period of the U.S. Apollo XI first manned landing. I think it was in the summer of 1969?

It's not that it's ignorance. I knew that the US sent people to the moon. I just didn't know if other countries followed us. If we could do it, so can other countries. All they need is motivation and money. It's not my fault I didn't know this. I was educated by crazies. My 8th grade science teacher swore up and down that Neil Armstrong wasn't the first man on the moon, that someone else was there to film it. (Um, no offense to the people here who think we never went.) When the budget hurts, public schools are the first to get cut.

ignorance (though I don't agree that looking for answers is ignorance, ignorance is a lack of desire to know the answer), so simply asking a question, is far better than the arrogance you've shown. Let them ask a question, or me have my opinion, whether you share it or not, other wise don't like it don't read it.

wow, that was almost one big sentence. im impressed...

my point was that his question was valid. but yer "opinion" was thrown in just to create controversy. maybe thats really what u believe, but i still find it amusing.
