Screw Wimbledon (or at least the ladies draw)!
Justine Henin played a terrible match against Penis Williams, losing 3-6,2-6. Poor Justine, she was up 2-0 in the first set and just lost it from there. Very weak returns and sprayed a lot of balls . Just didn't play the type of game I felt she could've. It's even harder when you have to have to face a woman more masculine than those in the men's draw. Justine is much cuter though.

Anyway, I tend to forget the womens'/ladies' draw in all tournaments. Mens' tennis is much better to watch. I suppose womens tennis can get some watch-time from me, but it's not usually the tennis that's getting the attention.
I have to cordially disagree with you. I think that women's tennis is normally far better to watch. Now it really isn't so because you have Penis and Serena who are just overpowering. The women's game is just better in my opinion. I'm not gonna say the men can't play some very entertaining matches, because I think the Henman matches (yes, I said matches because he will win Wimbledon this year), and also Rafter vs. Sampras last year was GREAT tennis.
Oh, and Jennifer lost too.
Williams sisters are going to make women's tennis uninteresting. how many times can you see the same sibling rivalry with their father shooting video footage in the stands. gag me.
happy 4th
People talking about Mauresmo playing like a man (and being a lesbian), why not talk about the Williams brothers?
Looks like they'll meet in the finals. Serena is cruising right now. That means they won't have me watching that final.
Put them in the men's draw.
I would not watch the final , perhaps dady have already choose the winner.
Well, at least she's not one of the Williams brothers. I'd rather have someone beat one of them instead of both of them playing each other.

Women's tennis used to be one moonball after another. In the 80's and 90's with Monica, Steffi, the Martina's, etc, it was a primarily baseline game. Graf and Navratilova were all court players, and that's why they did so well. Now it's all about the "big babes." It's even more-so a baseline game, too.
The problem I have with womens tennis currently is that it's a minor league version of Agassi vs. Kafelnikov. That is, if you think Williams vs Mauresmo, or Capriati, or whoever else is good tennis, find a rerun of some Agassi vs. Kafelnikov match. They met in Aussie Open finals, US Open finals, etc not too long ago. It's a much better version of the same thing.
Then there is the fact that a 64th in the world mens player can often come in as a wild card and even win a major. This really never happens in the womens draw. It's so predictable with the womens draw.
Hey, come derry dol!
I still like the women's side better, the Sisters aren't THAT dominant yet. If only Anna reached their level, and Hingis hadn't fallen apart.
The men's draw-who are these guys?
Jeff
That's true there do seem to be a lot more guys I've never heard of going deep. I think a lot of it is the young guys taking over from guys like Sampras & Agassi. Looked what happened to those 2 this Wimbledon. Pete loses first round (saw the match, he never looked as though he could beat the guy) and Andre out 2nd round. Also it really depends on the surface. Guys like Kuerten and Moya are really clay court/hard court specialists, so I never look for them to do too well at Wimbledon. It's not totally unheard of though if you follow tennis a bit. Hewitt vs. Henman definitely isn't a match of unknowns.
Yeah, what happened to Hingis? She's got an injury now which I heard might end her career. Not only was she good, but good looking too. One thing about Anna that many people don't realize. When she was 16 she made it to the semifinals of Wimbledon and had some game. I don't know what happened...whether it was all these outside ventures that totally ruined her game or what? SHe says it's not a lack of desire and that she is still very much a TENNIS PLAYER before everything else. I believe she's still in the mixed doubles, don't know about doubles. She's has good results there.
I like Lindsay Davenport's game, when she's in shape she can match Venus and Serena pretty well. She seems really nice, but doesn't do much for the "heat" factor, though.
The more I think about it, the more names come up that have sort of fallen by the wayside.

how utterly annoying .....
Well Henman fell sadly today to brat boy 5-7,1-6,5-7 in straight sets. I was disappointed that he didn't come out and play his best when the men's was clearly wide open for him. Sure Hewitt is #1 in the world, but still this was a great shot. That's 4 semis now he's reached, and I think a couple quarters before that. Oh well, at least Lucy Henman doesn't require a paper bag over her face like Kim Clijsters (or however you spell it), Lleyton Hewitt's gf. Is it me or does he just look like a f*ckin brat and also he's a bad sport.
Sad day. I'm pissed. I'm angry. Britain is in mourning for their Timmy. Henman Hill shall become a desolate waste on the 2nd Sunday. Once again, we wait another year.
Well Sister Act III with the Williams sisters are on now in the doubles match and they are grunting and groaning like mad. now, its in stereo.

Anna K. is still in the doubles.

so do i, i wonder why ?
I prefer women's tennis to men's. Men's tennis tends to have much less actual play because it's so serve-dominated. There's so much serve-return-winner. Women actually have longer sequences where they're playing.

I guess that's your preference. I don't enjoy watching 6 foot tall women pound the ball back an forth from the baseline. . . I don't really enjoy watching men pound it from the baseline either.
Wimbledon has always been about serve and volley. Short points. If you want to see long points, that's what the French Open is for.

Is that a deliberate spelling mistake of the Williams sisters name? I suppose it could spark alot of Tennis related innuendo, ball being sprayed and all.
