I liked your reply to the common put down of "I envy the amount of free time you have on your hands."

This irritating refrain is thrown about all over the web and for people who are on facebook.

There are 24 hours in a day. There is plenty of time to enjoy your hobbies.

Back on topic, The Pixelmator quote says it all. I enjoy their software and look forward to their upcoming updates. I assume the lightening of their load in promoting and policing will result in improvements in their actual software.

For some reason, I would actually be happier paying a few bucks for apps that are currently free. There is some satisfaction in knowing that for just a dollar or two, you can help an entrepreneur and ensure the vitality of the platform at the same time.

For instance, RemoteBuddy. It is one hell of an app and I was enthusiastic about paying the developer. (bought a few years ago via a website though)

This is in contrast this to my feelings about the RIAA, MPAA, and media conglomerates. Or hell, even adobe at this point.

Why is it that a few bucks per app makes me warm and fuzzy? Perhaps it is a common sense based perception of a fair market price. Or maybe not. I don't know. But it doesn't seem that I'm alone in this sentiment. Perhaps these other industries should take note...
