Just tried some of that Pepsi Blue...
Stopped by the local Target today after work and found several prominent displays filled with the new Pepsi Blue, which I thought wasn't out till next month, but whatever, I bought a 20-oz bottle.
I'll say this for it: It's very blue. A deeper blue than I was expecting based on the pictures, deep enough so you won't mistake it for windshield-washer fluid. But it's not opaque like cola; the transparency is similar to that of orange soda. (The bottles are not a blue plastic, by the way; they're clear with a blue label.)
The berry taste (a raspberry/strawberry blend, I'd guess) is quite strong. So much so that it's hard to discern the cola, which serves mostly to cut the berry's sweetness. If Cherry Coke/Wild Cherry Pepsi is cola with a splash of cherry, this is berry with a splash of cola.
This is going to be very popular with young children. The teen crowd will be tougher; there's a danger they might dismiss it as a "kiddie drink" or carbonated Kool-Aid.
Either way, Pepsi Blue will be around a while, but it'll be a niche drink, not the runaway hit they're hoping for.

But I don't like pop too much anyway, so why am I talking?
Vanilla Coke was OK, but I haven't bought any since I first tried it. Oh well.

The fact that it's a Pepsi product automatically means it'll never touch my lips, so I'll have to take your assessment of it at face value.
I'll stick to the good stuff...
After all, I AM a Pepper. Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too?
I hear that lemon Coke nonsense is going over about like a poot in church, so perhaps there's a light at the end of the "how can we take a good beverage and mess it up really good" tunnel?
"Number 7 with a root beer, please."
"Okay, number 7 with Mr Pibb, anything else?"
"NO, not STEENKing Mr Pibb. I hate you."
I am a big fan of the less-sweetening-is-more. Having taught myself to be a huge fan of Talking Rain (definitely an acquired taste), I'm convinced that if every soda bottler in the country cut the amount of sugar in their drinks in half, we'd get used to it inside a week. And we'd have better teeth and live longer. Ditto with sodium. But hey, look at me, I still eat #7s at McDonald's

Master Scates, are you aware that Dr. Pepper is a Pepsi product?
Has anyone tried the new red Dr. Pepper? I'm a huge Dr. Pepper fan (and would say that I hate Pepsi and Diet Pepsi, but not all Pepsi products, since Dr. Pepper is a Pepsi product, but then I already said that) and the red one is basically a more cherry-like, less cola-like, version of Dr. Pepper.
Diet Coke (its all we drink in cyberland)
Vanilla Coke (My curiosity was well rewarded)
Mello Yello (For when I run out of Diet Coke)
And there you have it! Sacrin and Phenylenaline will be my young grave but who cares! I like Diet Coke! Its better than a fag! Oh yes indeed!
wyntir good to see you back!
pscates it's not just you. Vanilla Coke is disturbing. Luca Rescigno your description of it is exactly what I thought when I tasted it. Ew.
Pepsi twist will make you spew! I always hated Cherry anything, but Cherry coke must be the worst use yet for cherries. Lemon Coke no thank you.
Anyone here ever had Birch Beer from Polar? Yum.
At self-serves runner-up is what I like to call "mud." (everything ) Hey, Think Different. Different flavor every time!
Pepsi is better than Coke by the way
.....hope that made sense
I bought a 12 pack of Vanilla Coke to give an extended try. I've had 6 or so and the taste is really starting to make me gag. I thought itwas OK at first, but the last few cans have been more like torture than refreshment.
I'll have to try Pepsi Blue. I was disappointed in Pepsi after Pepsi Twist.

No it isn't. Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc. is owned by Cadbury Schweppes of Britain. Besides Dr Pepper and 7Up, they also own A&W root beer, Sunkist, Squirt, RC Cola, Crush, Welch's soda, Hires root beer, Canada Dry and Vernors.
Dr Pepper/Seven Up doesn't have its own bottling system, though, so it's often bottled by a Pepsi bottler, depending on where you live.
i haven't heard of pepsi blue, but it sounds intriquing. i'm gonna look for it at the bodega on the way home. that vanilla coke seems to me to be a stupid idea.
I think I'm becoming addicted. It's funny, because, at first I really didn't like it. The vanilla flavoring reminded me of a flavored, um, "personal lubricant" I had used some number of years ago, and it just made me laugh when I drank it. But somehow I got hooked.
This Pepsi blue business is rather disturbing though, I'll have to try it, I like berries.
My name is mike, and I am a vanilla coke junkie.

Wow, crazy. Here in Portland, every Pepsi vendor (both fountain and bottle) keeps Dr. Pepper & Pepsi stuff together. And when the theater chain switched from Coke products to Pepsi products, they brought in Dr. Pepper, and when they switched back to Coke products, Pepsi disappeared. Dr. Pepper must not only be bottled by Pepsi but distributed by Pepsi distributors.
