He doesn't say that he makes only $1 per year, because that would be inaccurate.

Instead, salary is discussed in the press.

No, that's all he gets, except for medical.

Since 2003, he only gets $1 a year. No stock options. No stock grants. He does get medical insurance, and reimbursement for his jet when used for corporate purposes, for which he received about $250,000 last year.

    That's IT!

This is all well established in corporate filings. I don't understand why you guys are questioning it. It's public information.

Well, just because only Softbank carries the iPhone doesn't mean they have an exclusive.

I had heard that Woz gets lifetime medical from Apple. Is that true?

Bonuses are not taxed lower. Do you have a job? And, he is getting paid $1. His last bonus was about 5 years ago, when the Board of Directors, awarded him a Gulfstream jet. A few years before that, he got some options, that were eventually turned into restricted shares, which he has never sold, except for when they created a tax liability. Steve only collects the dollar for the health insurance plan. Got to be on the payroll to be enrolled. Insurance company rules.

Dude, just because something is "reported" does NOT make it true. They may have reworked the contracts a week ago, is your information that recent?

The iPhone was NEVER contractually exclusive to Softbank.

Apple agreed to SIM lock the iPhone so that only Softbank can handle it.

No matter how you slice it, it's exclusive, not by chance but by agreement, although not part of the carrier contract.

    What is the delusion here?

Dude, in a conference call, Apple's statements are carefully worded because they are legally liable for them. His use of EXCLUSIVE is the legal one. Clearly, as he used it in the context of a contract. What don't you get? Your use of the word exclusive, means Softbank is the sole provider, which is NOT what Cook was referring to.

As for SIM-locking, that has nothing to do with exclusivity. iPhones sold thru Softbank, must run thru the term of the agreement, otherwise, carriers like Softbank would never recover their subsidy. This is the case in almost all countries where the iPhone is sold under subsidy. Why you equate SIM-locking with exclusivity is beyond everyone here.
