hmmm, FIFA2002 is a wicked game for the PS2, you already have MGS2 so may i suggest Ico its a pretty good strategy game which really shows off the graphics of the console...
as for DVD's Lord of the Rings is newly out, Peter Kay-Live at the top of the tower is a suberb stand-up and Ali is also released recently
I'm going to rent Metal Gear Solid 2.. Can anyone recommend any other games, and maybe some newly released DVD's I should get as well? Thanks..

MGS2 has great gameplay, but I don't like part of the levels, and the story was disappointing to me. The 'first act' of the game was the only part that still holds replay value to me. I'm glad I only bought it 'pre-played' at blockbuster, rather than full price. GTA3 rules though. Rent that.
GT3 and FFX are good games, but they aren't games that I would rent. Only rent them as a trial of if you want to buy them or not. They are really games that you don't get much out of if you're only playing them for a couple days. You can beat MGS2 in a couple days, depending on the skill level you play at. GT3 is one of those games where you have to 'get used to' the controls. They are realistic controls and you have to get used to the fact that the game physics aren't as lenient as other games are.
AS for SSX Tricky, I don't like the PS2 version. I actually got hooked on the xBox version. I plan on buying the GC version when i get a GC (the PS2 version came first and the GC and xBox ports were done at the same time, so the level and gameply differences between the port and the PS2 version are the same [edit: for xBox and GC versions that is] )

ok you are either to young to fully understand the plot or you really shouldnt be playing computer games like this
the plot on MGS2 is amazing and uncomprehendable, however the genius of Hideo Kojami makes it stunningly acceptable and truely fantastic...this is easily the greatest PS2 game so far

Let me put it in better words. The plot was good, but I was expected something different, and I didn't like the fact that I could only play as Snake in the beginning. I thought that Jack was kind of a dumbass. I wouldn't say the greatest PS2 game by far though. This game doesn't have that much replay value to me. Sorta like Max Payne. Games with stories dont' have that much replay value. They are games that you play once, and then you don't touch for a while. Then you get a craving to play it (edit: like 6 months or so later). I didn't like the whole Jack/Rose thing. Jack was stupid. I GUESSED what she was talking about when she kept talking about a 'special day'. I guessed this the moment she said it. It's so obvious, yet he doesn't get it till the end of the game. I admit that thew story was good, but I'm kinda biased against it because I was expecting something different and was kinda disappointed when I didn't get what I was expecting. Btw, Extreme is HARD. Well not that hard, but I can't beat Fat Man on Extreme though.
The Mothman is one of my BIGGEST hobbies---if you can call it that...I am SOOO into it. The way you describe it (no offense) is that it some run-of-the-mill movie...it is much more than that. I just got done reading the book (not as good as the movie). Also, it is not just the death, it is the Mothman (duh), and that alone is worth all of the UFO things in the world (8 ft tall, red glowing eyes, wings, scares me rigt now *chill down back*. Anyways, that is a sweet movie. As for videogames, Red Faction, Medal of Honor Frontline, and Medel Gear Solid 2 are some of my faves. With Medal Gear Solid 2 being my favorite game of all time...

I don't like to say too much about movies, because I don't like to ruin the experience for others. I admit that the mothman idea is original though, I have never heard anything like it before. I like the 'window washer' explanation of it. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying that I'm not really fascinated with it. It's not bad, but I'm not diehard about it either.
the xbox has better specs as it's made by microsfot and includes a hard drive and graphics card...however having said that i wouldnt touch one with a barge poll for numerous reasons
1) the control is far to bulky and takes a bit of getting used to
2) there are few decent or named games available
referring to a previous post
pyro i dont wanna get caught up in yet another pointless debate with you about something u have no idea upon but...
what the heck were u expecting from MGS2? the plot itself should have kept u glued (i'm talking about the real plot concerning snake - not the lameass one with jack the spack)
and as for replayability, MGS2 follows in the footsteps of MGS with extra features unlocked for everytime u play it and every level u progress up on difficulty so in total its got top replayability

Sorry to butt in again but, it is not an "idea" it is true! Really, there were many sightings in the 60s of it including a mass sighting of over 100! Now they think he has returned because there was a sighting of it in South Dakota in 2001. Please understand, this is not an idea, it is true!!!!!! This is just one of those things of mine that needs to be understood by everyone.
As for the movie, they did take some liberties, but for the most part everything is true. Some things are that the guy's name is John Keel not John Klein, etc...(i don't want to give away the movie). Even the Indrid Cold thing is true.
The strange part is that this thing never really got really any attention (people at the time were into UFOs etc...). Also, in the book, the Mothmen were really closely tied to UFOs. The book is, by the way, a book of accounts. FYI, Indrid Cold claimed he was from the planet Lanulos. I know virtually everything about the mothman, so if anyone has any questions, ask away.
hehe, you know what? This guy's weekend is probably over...oh well, what did you think?
P.S. I have all of the next gen videogame systems, and PS2 is the best by far. The gamecube has a lot of cool games coming out, as well does the xbox. With the controller deal, I really don't mind the xbox controller and I have small hands! PS2 is ok, but gamecube is the best. Sorry for the choppy sentences, but I am typing as I think. hehe...and I don't normally do that.
