    Playbook is DOA.

RIM is playing this tablet game for their investors. They have no soul in tablets.

Playbook, Xoom(which sounds like the word used to describe digging up a dead body from the grave), Touchpad(ipad rip-off handed to HP by ex Apple honcho Jon Rbinstein) and Nokia are all going to die a quick and painful death.

I was actually thinking Playbook was being built on a platform that could give Apple serious competition. Now it looks rather frankentablet as you say. It is very possible that the only serious competition will come from WebOS devices. That is another way of saying I have little faith in Android.

POSIX is just a standard for a minimal set of OS calls. I would be surprised if the iPhone wasn't POSIX compliant. It has nothing to do with binary compatibility.

This psychodrama is just, well, psychotic. Why do you want to run an emulator on your tablet device? How will this effect battery life and performance or is just like flipping a switch when needed and you don't see it?

As the owner of a NookColor, well, if you think typing on an iPad is a hit or miss affair, waiit until you want to type for any length of time on a 7-inch tablet.

I wish this device would just come out already.

Abramsky is doing his standard follow the internet rumors and post some crap to drive stock action. Specifically, here is a well placed story that is likely the progenitor to this rumor: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2379666,00.asp.

All Abramsky does to get where he is is add RIM as a potential customer of Myriad for the Alien Dalvik JVM. It's pure churning fodder, typical of this analyst/idiot.

Disclaimer*: I terminated all my positions with RBC based on Abramsky's idiotic prognostications and their ability to consistently screw up making me any money. At least I was smart enough to lose trust in them early and not throw good money after bad.
