Back to Shrek - Monsters...

Yep, monsters was a bit too much for kids. Most of the people in cinema seeing that were kids.. or their parents. So normally when you are 20+ or 30+ and go to cinmea to see that kinda movies without kids they look you weird... maybe it should have had a lot of more sketches for adults ...

Shrek i've seen it 3 or 4 times - only original. among those few movies i dont even want to see dubbed! in a tv commercial fod kids snacks now they have the donkey talking - yeah it sounds a bit like eddie but its not eddie.. i dont want to see what the italian version really is.. probably it's good as well..

ice age seemed to be again then more for the adults...

C'mon!! They should do more cartoons for adults! Like shrek .. most kids movies are boring - especially if you have to hear the dubbed version ... Right now the next animated movie i will see is the ghost in the shell - bought in a french newspaper stand...

i saw it for the first time friday, and honestly i dont know what all the hype is about. yes, it was good and been described as "cute" by many of my friends. but...thats about it. it wasnt smart like Shrek. no adultish humor AT ALL. everything could be understood by young children. most disney movies have a few jokes that can be appreciated by older viewers, but this one was purely elementary school level. no clever jokes. no hidden innuendos. Shrek kicks the cr*p out of this thing...

i have desire to see shrek, it's looks bad and the animation doesn't look that great. the 'adult' humor that i've seen the the previews are stupid and predicable

the monster's inc 2 dvd set has a quide to inside jokes, though i haven't looked for it yet

the animation is amazing. supposedly 'finding nemo' is going to be even better. there is a sneak preview on the dvd somewhere, though i forgot to look for it

i guess some critics have said this dvd set blows shrek's away

I was disappointed in Monsters, Inc. because it did very little to advance the genre. I mean, I'm sure there are a bunch of great technical improvements over the stuff used for Toy Story/Toy Story 2, but there was nothing that really defined Monsters, Inc. as anything new.

Little Boo was very cute though, and well animated.

I much preferred Ice Age, and its stylized approach.

what's bout sully's hair?? amazing. you know what they used for hair in Shrek? grass texture!!

didn't see Ice Age but it looks like it might be good.

Well, you've hit the nail into the lid, there. The whole Monsters, Inc. vs Shrek debate is moot* since I can say without doubt that The Iron Giant owns them both. Brad Bird's next project? Finding Nemo.

    *Monsters was better.
