Let me make you a present of song as / the wise man breaks wind and is gone while / the fool with the hour-glass is cooking his goose and / the nursery rhyme winds along

    No hints.

    Love is a bird

    She needs to fly

Let all the hurt inside you die

    You?re frozen

"he asked me for some collateral, so i pulled down m' pants"

written by a man who had a good number of [il]legitimate children. one was a fairly popular singer in more recent times.

    and here's a more fun one: "i know a mouse that hasn't got a house. i don't know why i called him `gerald`."

the writer of that one later went pschizo, left the band [of which he was a member] and got institutionalized.

    from easy:

"I'd rather die than give you control"

"Danny went home and killed himself last night....

    She took his car

    She took his bike

She took everything she thought he like

and what she couldn't take she found a way to break"

    to harder:

"Don't look at the carpet....I drew something auful on it"

    "Look at her laughing

Like a heifer to the slaughter"

    to impossible:

"I stood up at my brothers wedding

and I just had to laugh,

but then the thing that struck me funny,

    suddenly it struck me sad,

I call his new bride The Magician

because she cut that boy in half...."

"...no traffic now in this part of town,

'cept for the boy on the balconey, he's crazy,

been ringing the bells in the church for last half an hour..."

Should be easy, or also an easy one, but a favorite,

"give me crack and anal sex, take the only tree that's left and stick up the hole in your culture."

    heretic!! Brian Eno is God......

    g

ps....sorry about the impossible one...it is from a cd that is not out yet by a baltimore husband and wife duo--they have funky, deep woods of west virginia type songs with lines like:

"My beautiful daughter was sleeping beside me.....I was re-reading The Killer Inside Me...."

    and

"She's hiding under the bed scared of who knows what,

she's off her meds and she's out of touch...

the voices in her head are saying cut, cut, CUT!"

    and

"I'm going through another one of those stages,

of drinking too much and acting outragous,

spending all of my hard earned wages

hanging out in bars that feature women in cages"
