i don't buy it. i mean sometimes i may be slightly paranoid but i don't fit into their definition. i mean some of the wording they use is misleading, the use of the word "often" for instance. the test is too black and white. instead of yes and no, there should be often, sometimes , never.

Well, I haven't taken that test for a few months, but I've taken if 5 or 6 times and I'm usually the highest for avoidant. Coincedentally I was studying some personality disorders independantly and I happened upon APD, or Avoidant Personality Disorder, and I could not believe what I was reading.
It was amazing to read something that related so well to me, but so depressing for it to be a description of a personality disorder. I couldn't help but cry when I read it. I am ****ed up in the head, it's an amazing feeling. I need to go to a shrink.
Well, I guess some of those that "know" me online (okay, so just mainly at another forum) never had any doubts that I had some kind of PD, so at least there's no disappointments there. But there really is something wrong with me. In the head. I don't.. know how to react to that.
Online tests suck..they don't give you a truly accurate report. Best way is to have a Psychologist do some serious interviewing with you and then read the DSM4.
I mean, one person up above (can't recall..too lazy to scroll up) put Dependant and Avoidant...uh...so you avoid everyone, yet you are dependent on someone. You could have tendencies for one while manifesting the other..but to have a "high" rating for both would be hard.
I'm sure if you all looked through the DSM4 and saw the requirements for each disorder, you would think you had them all! When in fact, a "normal" person actually would have all the requirements.
I'm not taking this test cause I think that making light of Personality Disorders (which are Axis 2 in the DSM4, btw...Axis 1 are the Psychiatric Disorders) isn't funny.
Just my thoughts...not trying to put anyone down or create an arguement.

You're obsessing, burningwheel. ;-)
Low for everything!
Guess I'm just fabulously well-adjusted...

Now we KNOW there's something wrong with the diagnostics!

I don't have any personality disorders, and I'll stab anyone who says otherwise.
Tsss ... Tsss : being a member of AI is a major sign or personality disorder in itself
May i suggest this test :
are you a member of AI ? yes or no
do you have access to the executive washroom : yes or no ?
if yes, answer to this other question : when you are in this room are you looked and why ?
Results : if yes to the first question then you are suffering a big personality disorder, if yes to the second question : then you are beyond therapy.
third question : do not add anything to the test, Jonathan just wanted to know
Schizoid: High

Antisocial: High
