    The Macintosh (Apple) is a Canadian invention.



    Also while a variation of the original Granny Smith is a fave in the USA, mostly they are in the "cooking apples" category because of the excessive tartness, and almost any of the many other types of apples are more popular than they are.



    Macintosh, Golden Delicious, and Jon O'gold are all more popular by far.

    I'm a Fuji fan myself, but Macoun are DAMN good! :-)
