Another A.I. fan here. I think that movie was underrated.
Worst fantasy/sword and sorcery movie: Dungeons & Dragons. Actually, there are a lot of bad sword and sorcery movies, but I actually had high expectations for this one, since Jeremy Irons was cast in it. (I know--silly me.)
Ai that was bad and hollow man was particularly hollow but then Forest Gump had so many people singing the praises of being stupid (and equating morality with wealth) that it became very depressing.
I agree in making a big budget or popularity a criteria. I saw Beethovan 2 on a bus once. It was terrible but nice that a bus line would show movies. I also saw Free Willy 2! I miss Peter Pan bus lines.
never seen Species 1, but I was seriously about to walk out on this movie. God what an aweful POS movie

ZO...watch Species 1 it certainly is alot better than 2 which indeed was truly HORRIBLE.
My vote goes to Sweet November. Keanu Reeves was totally miscast for this movie and even the normally lovely Charlize Theron was more like a crazy dingbat and good Lord that horrible ending. Two thumbs down.
Another horrible movie is Winona Ryder's "Lost Souls". Aaaargh that movie was very weak.
Naturally we have people who think Academy Award winners for Best Picture represent the worst movies they ever saw...

Trouble is, an Academy Award is not necessarily an indication of a good movie.
Movies will only be nominated if the production studio feels it's worth the millions of dollars required to promote the movie/director/actor/SGI O2 as a potential Oscar winner. And bribe the Academy members (Free screenings with dinners, merchandise, publicity opportunities).

As a Jeremy Irons fan (I loved him in the movie where he plays a set of twins--can't remember the name...), and a veteran AD&D 2nd Ed. player, I had high hopes for that movie too...God it was almost as bad as Batman and Robin...

Dead Ringers. It is a pretty good movie.

It wasn't that bad. Full of clichés, for sure, but it wasn't awful, was it?
I liked it for one reason: It didn't end as the hero cuts the red wire on the bomb with just seconds to spare. That big boy goes KABOOM! halfway through the movie.

is it true that the first edition of Fiends and Folio 1981 version in very good shape can be sell 150 $ ?
"the job is in the car...the clipboard is done...the car is in the job...the cops found the car...the job is done...the cops are on the clipboard..." and on and on. I thought my head was going to burst.
WTF were they doing with the cones and the station wagon?!?!?!
"How Long is a chinaman's name!" WTF does this have to do with anything?!?!?!
Needless to say, we had to turn it off after 15 mins. Sure got a good laugh.
Poor mamet. Too many people doing too many revisions.

Your contention is that the Academy Award? for Best Picture is NOT always awarded to a reasonably "good" movie because studio promotions and academy member bribery allow "bad" movies to be awarded the Academy's top award?
Hello? What crack are you smoking? Any movie that wins an Academy Award? for Best Picture has to be at least REASONABLY GOOD. At least. In fact, Gladiator is a prime example of a good movie rather than a great movie winning Best Picture.
In fact, your explanation doesn't even support your statement:

And by what criteria do you think production studios choose to promote potential Oscar winners for Best Picture? One would think they would promote reasonably "good movies." So your points are totally inapplicable to my contention that Best Picture winners shouldn't be named here as "Worst Movies Ever" because I doubt someone can claim never seeing a worse movie than one that won that award.
1. Dark City... the only movie I have ever... A) Had an entire group actually fall asleep while watching (not at home I'm talking in the actual theater), and Wake up and leave the theater
2. Smokey and the Bandit part 3: A movie so bad even Burt Reynolds wouldn't do it.
3. Highlander 2: There can be only one... unless you are a race of aliens in another part of the galaxy who send your convicts into the future to fight, then choose to grow up and die or.... yeah you get the point... or probably not....

Probably. About ten years ago, I saw one for sale at a comic shop for about $50, and I'm sure the price a collector would pay for one must have gone up since then.

As for Species... THat movie ruled!
I was like 14 when I saw it.. All I have to say is that Natasha Henstridge is one hot chick!
Starship troopers also comes to mind, but it was actually somewhat entertaining in its stupidity...

Oh yeah . . . the worst to date for me:
can't remember the title but it just came out in video, Mathew Mconnomy(sp?) plays a guy possessed by God to kill demons
awful awfull . . ................

Remember the title or you might accidentally rent it again: FRAILTY
my all time favorites:
eight legged freaks, the wedding planner
this is the worst action movie I have ever seen.... Sucks!!!!!
Pretentious drivel masquerading as edgy "art" film.

Plan 9 from Outer Space was so bad that is was good.

Agree. Add Highlander 3 to that. As my ex-roomate said, There should have been only one.
