Don't misundertand my comments to B, guys. I'm not saying you're screwed up / a bad person if you don't feel bad or get outwardly emotional when someone dies. Everyone handles it in their own way to be sure.
I'm just saying most people make an effort to remain unphased by the death of those they admire or are familiar with in some way. My comment about having someone close to you dying was directed more towards those who say "other people dying doesn't phase me" - the implication being that sometimes experiencing the loss of a loved one can profoundly change how you see the death of others.
And your point is that one must be alive at the time of someone's death to "feel bad?" Obviously, I proved you wrong. Have any other bright ideas? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
I genuinely feel sad when I hear of a singer that I've heard dies. Eg. Aaliya, 2Pac, Biggie. I remember moments when I listened to thier music and feel a great loss that I nor anyone will ever hear anything new from them. Same with actors, especially comedians that I've also seen movies of. A loss for myself and the world. Maybe its a selfish sadness.
I absolutely feel horrible when someone I don't know dies, and I don't know why. I also feel like the only one, especially with all the sad events that seem to be happening back-to-back this year. I was reading an article about the recent church shooting in SC, when I actually caught myself shedding tears of sorrow for them. I also prayed for them, I'm not sure what about, but I did.
I don't understand why people feel sad. I put myself in their shoes: what if some evil person suddenly, for no reason, took MY dear loved ones away? I understand it's not happening to you personally... it's just sad how cold people have gotten.
