    Well, maybe not saying he's DEAD once they already believe it, but I wouldn't let them "believe" it in the first place. Tradition and myth are better understood and appreciated if they aren't confused with reality.     My ISP could use this remarkable new form of therapy. My connection has had latency in the neighborhood of 20 seconds and, on average, 50% packet loss since Friday. The call center people send in a ticket to the routing department sysadmins, but those bastards send the tickets BACK if they so much as use a term incorrectly. As one call center person exclaimed, "God, they're a bunch of freaking children over there..."

    Oh, this just in. I just got off the phone with my ISP, and they believe my cable modem is faulty. Of course. Because when you traceroute my IP, it NEVER gets past the same RCN router EVERY time... so obviously, it's my modem. I swear...



    So a tech is coming tomorrow to replace my modem. Bastards...

    people who smoke at gas pumps. yes i have seen them on several ocassions this year. one guy even put his smoke out on the cement base of the pump <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" /> <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

    So I got a new cable modem, which didn't fix the problem. But the tech that came called up a friend of his that is a routing admin at my ISP. They then fixed the problem for me immediately.
