Actually not this time. They bought the name. That is all. The talent is still back in Sweden working CloudMe.com.
Are you sure? icloud / cloudme / mobileme .... all sounds like one oneness, don't it? Add the fact that iCloud - now cloudme does something very similar to what idisk / mobileme does or will do and then add the new cloudme homepage which seems to reference OSX more than anything else.
For grins, I typed "icloud.com" in Safari's address bar. Several seconds later, Safari responded with, "Safari can?t open the page ?http://www.cloudme.com/? because Safari can?t find the server ?www.cloudme.com?."

"cloudme"?
It's likely your ISPs DNS info isn't updated.
I was instantly directed to http://www.cloudme.com/en

True, but the A record is: 83.140.241.12
which is xcerion.com
So it appears that it is not DNS doing the work but instead it is a script.
This makes alot of sense to me. And far better to have iCloud as a subset of MobileMe, than to replace MobileMe altogether.
Looks like they will be changing MobileMe to iCloud.

Castle sounds cooler if you ask me and that domain isn't even being used. I guess the general public is like "oh wow, cloud".
Whatever... I never liked the MobileMe name either
