I loved the movie it was better than the fellowship... I liked to see the ent on fire douse himself in the flood water

I must have missed that. I didn't have a very good seat. 60 degrees down and 30 degrees to the left
Oh what the heck. I'll just go ahead and post my own personal review for the film now and get it over with.
Let me qualify my ME knowledge first. I've read the Lord of the Rings 7 times in my life...the first time when I was 13 and I've read the Silmarillion. Explaining why Tolkien's world has captivated my interest for so long would be a very difficult task. Probably because the HOBBIT was the first TRUE fantasy work of fiction I'd ever read. Prior to that...other than the Grimms Fairytales....fantasy wasn't that interesting to me. Then one day I saw the animated HOBBIT film....liked it... went to the school library the next day... boom. I was hooked on Middle Earth.
Anyway, I've been waiting for for 20 years for someone to have the cohones to invest in bringing my favorite work of fiction to the big screen.
PJ and New Line have done a masterful job...IMHO.
While I can understand why some may take issue with PJ's deviation from the written works, I'm not one of them. I didn't have a problem with Faramir being as weak as his older brother. He wasn't one of the "fellowship" so I'd always viewed him as background anyway.
While I thought Fellowship of the Rings could have done with additional relationship/history building for the 4 hobbits, I thought the parts of Fellowship after their arrival in Bree were very well done.
So...on a scale of 1-10...for enjoyment of Fellowship of the Rings...I'd give the first movie an 8.
The Two Towers...IMHO, is a directors cut away from a perfect 10. It was darker, there was a MASS BATTLE, there were ENTS, there was a MASS BATTLE, Gollum...at times..was done so well that at times you'd forget that he was CG, there was a MASS BATTLE..
I loved the Two Towers.
As a movie....it was a 10 IMHO. As an interpetation of Tolkien's work... I'd give it between a 7-8.
Good thing I went into the movie expecting it to be a MOVIE.

Please humor me. I'm new to the AI boards so I missed this thread initially.
Thanks.
