    Trinity.

I'm feeling good. A lot of my friends got rejected and frankly they should have been even with their 1300, 1400+ SAT's. They figured that since they go to private school they could slack off and automatically get in almost anywhere. Ah, there is justice in this world afterall.

To what kind of schools did they apply? You know I didn't try for Ivy League despite finishing top 5% in my class with high SAT verbal scores (though certainly not high enough math scores). Although I did get a full scholarship to a local small liberal arts school and I completed my first semester in that school's honors program. Sometimes those are really the best options. Imagine- not having to pay anything for college while being a part of a small group of students in that school. I am completely humbled by the experience. Have fun in your college decision process.

i applied to 14 schools in all.. and many of them are "reach" schools for me that i likely won't make but wanted to give it a shot.

I'm applying to 7 california schools alone. My dream school is Stanford but, well, reality is beginning to set in as i see all these amazing people get rejected or deferred by them who have much better grades/scores than me

I am applying to 3 ivy leagues... i may have a shot at yale with baseball.... i'll have to see... i have a friend who i played with for 4 years on Yale's team... so, I'm hoping that may work out.

we'll see.... i should hear from santa clara next week... i probably got deferred.

My younger sister got her "Yes Letter" last week. She was quite pleased, and she should be, because I'll be a senior next year and she's going to be the luckiest freshman in school aside from a certain B-Movie celebrity.

I frankly don't remember how I felt. All I remember is that all of my friends got deferred early to their choices, I got into mine. They really didn't like me for it, which of course is one of the downfalls of getting into an Ivy -- some people scoff at the accomplishment. Sad but true, I'm not close with any of my old high school friends anymore. Fortunately I have plenty of college friends to fill in the gap, but they all seem to live in better, warmer states.

Florida, Cali, Hawaii. . . My soul must be in the tropics. The PRM* is a bad place to be.

I guess I didn't have many high aspirations when I applied for college. I was considering two places (both fairly small, Division II schools that most no one has heard of) but only applied to one. I was accepted and went there.

    Splinemodel,

This has nothing to do with the school you go to. Many, if not most, HS students grow up to be retards, and many college grads just get rewardwed for being retards who study. You might just have realized this about them, or they about you, who can say?

please don't put yourself down because of a grade you got on some standardized test...

they really just gauge your ability to take a test... thats it... don't read into it... sure it sucks that colleges put a lot of stock into them... but they are just a test... thats all...

I hate people who think they are the shit because they did well on some standardized test... It doesn't mean anything...

(this coming from someone who did fairly well on the SATs... so take it with a grain of salt...i guess) <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    freaking college board...

And applenut... no wonder you haven't been here too much, applying to schools left and right. Hope it works out for you.

YIKES...I really got to get on the ball with this stuff.

I'm applying to Berklee School of Music in Boston, and I really think I can get in...but what if I don't  that would be sucky, I onyl have a few other choices and I don't really want to goto them they are just safetys....my SATs are not very flattering, and my gpa could be better....I am such a slacker.

my sister had an 800 on her verbal and like a 580 on math...she didn't get into any of the big hitters she applied to(jstu to see if she'd get in) yale,stanford,harvard,princeton....she also scored 5s on 4 AP classes and a 4 on the other one. and has enough extra curicular to fill a spaceship and sail to pluto.
