..amsterdam, i think the dad was the lucky one!
but seriously, maybe the kid could take care of himself, but you don't leave an 11yr old to take care of himself for a week, are you telling me they couldn't have thought to ask someone to check up on him everyonce and a while (i think needed at 11).
...and that is why my dad is incharge of passports and everything when we go places, haha so everyone is sure they have everything they need...god bless dad's
If he didn't have his passport with him. (like the story says) then it sounds like he did indeed have a passport. How hard is it to drive back home and get it and book a later flight? Only the mother need stay to handle this. Seems like it coulda been handled a dozen ways much easier. You can get temp papers from the US customs office for emergency trips outside the US. Upon arrival he can go to the Embassy to pick up citizenship proof papers. I had a relative who did something similar once. This looks like the next 'walmart kid beater' drama story.

I'm 6 years older than the wee lad and it had happened to me 3 times this year.
My dad took trips to Russia, Amsterdam and Japan, leaving me with a total of 4 weeks with the house to myself </strong><hr></blockquote>
