    The option of using one of Apple's LCD displays should not be limited to purely the desktops.

    The only reason perhaps is that Apple is concerned that allowing it's laptops (more so the iBook) to connect to it's LCD displays may eat into iMac purchases.



    But when you add it up, you get more for your buck with an iMac, if you don't require the portability.

    I was thinking of something more along the lines of the VGA port on the iBooks. It is a miniVGA port to which you connect an adapter that Apple includes with every iBook purchased. You then connect the adapter to a VGA monitor. I'd love to see a connector for ACD done in this same fashion. You'd plug AC power into the adapter, and plug the adapter into the Powerbook's miniACD port. There would be no reason to power the ACD from the Powerbook's battery as the ACD would only be used at home or at the office.
