yeah, i think it's an idea that will greatly improve with just one revision.
a light to indicate the bin is full, and/or a larger bin so that it doesn't need to be emptied after every room.
HEPA filter will be nice if they add it.
also, it makes me wonder what they mean when they say it's not meant to replace "deep cleaning"
granted, i'm not much of a cleaner, so i have no idea what that's supposed to mean, but i'd like to think that if i bought one of these i wouldn't also need to have a regular vaccuum around too.
I think deep cleaning means steam cleaning. Not something a regular vaccum does. It's to get really nasty stuff out of carpet. I can think of various situations, but for the sake of good taste, i won't suggest any.
I like robo's ideas and Roomba v2. It could have a "station" which Bluetooths to your computer, recharges it when it inserts itself, and also holds a large reservoir for emptying the dirt bins into. As well as doing preventative maintenance, like perhaps scraping pet hair off of the revolving brush parts which are vulnerable (such as is noted in the Roomba FAQ). It could even make the Roomba smarter, by memorizing your floorplans for the maximum cleaning benefit.
Guys! Don't you get it??? You buy Roomba NOW and you invest in the FUTURE!!! lol
Serious, absolutely correct you all are about possible Roomba revisions, but for now, I don't have to vacuum or sweep my house any more. That's what I bought it for and that's why I am using it. No complaints here.
Actually, I have it charging all the time in the corner of my kitchen and I feel bad every time I see it. I feel like saying, "Sorry buddy, you already CLEANED everything." sigh. Some things are just TOO effecient.
European Robotic Vac. It will be FAR better that that US one two, you know how much a Dyson Vacuum is better then a regular one, well guess who is making a robo VAC it's <a href="http://www.dyson.co.uk/range/feature_frame.asp?model=DC06" target="_blank">Dyson</a> Currentely on home trial but is likely to be out before the US one is available over here.

Robo units have been vacuuming Japanese homes for several years; they are sold in almost every electronics store to the point you might think they were common appliances.

I also think Roomba could look a little cooler.

What's good about the Roomba is that it is small enough to fit under most furniture. <shrugs>
<strong>A robot that cleans floors? Thank God, the future is finally here!!
I still want my flying car and a moon base...
