I'm not exactly sure how it was racist?! was it the caricatures of those power hungry caucasions?

or was it the little joke about the "British Spunk"?

or was it because teh people who have dark skin were prtrayed with darker skin then the caucasions?

or was it that the Arab fundamentalists were wearing turbans?

I don't get it, are you joking when you call this racist?

maybe you could explain . . . or did you actually look at it?

I think we can attest that 'ol rat here is the ultimate flamethrower here. Clever? Subtle? Yes. Most times lame? Yes.

It's a farking cartoon loser. If you really want to see racism look at real life not a cartoon.

But please, as you have always stated to others...show me the goods. Show me examples of racism in this political cartoon. Show me.

I really was at first entertained by it. But then I started wondering if any of the scenarios in it could come to fruition. So it made me wonder. Most powerful political associations are liars who won't reveal their true intentions until the moment arises. Then all hell breaks loose.

...and I wanted others to express their thoughts....

...of course 'rat had to spout his dorfbyte...jeez.

You don't see the racism in that cartoon? You don't see the racism in characterizing the Arabs and others in the middle east as reactionary and violent?

Can't help you if you don't see that, Artman.

now it makes sense . . . after all, to me it seems like a very likely scenerio of excallation . . . . where the "street," that has already deslared the US and the west its enemy, merely grows to proportions that it needs to be recognized as opposed to merely dismissed

It seems very likely to you because you buy the stereotype.

And when I say "not as clever as it was racist" I give the racist a score of 2 on a scale of 10. Clever gets .5

So you are saying that if one asumes that there will be backlashes from an American invasion of a soveriegn nation in the mid-east, that that assumption (which, to my mind is pretty well caricterized in caricature in that FLash movie) is racist?

I think that's plain silly, either that or its a bad arguement in attempt to stifle one possible anti-war angle....

I think assuming that all involved Arabs will be violent is very much drawing on a racist stereotype. Absolutely.

in order for it to charicterize Arabs as violent in a blanket way it would have to have said that "Arabs revolt" as opposed to its saying that 'Fundamentalist Arabs revolt and take up arms' . . . which is not only not racist but is allready proven to be the case . . .the only difference being that in the FLash Movie there will be a swell in the number of Fundamentalists . . . and that is probably a very accurate picture of what will happen.

Or are you generally of the belief that there are no such fundamentalist factions hell bent on overthrowing the West in the Mid-East?!?!

The F.Movie, in no way says that all Arabs are violent . . in fact, in the scenario of the Flash Movie, there is a time lag between the rise of the Fundamentalist factions and the overthrow of State Governments . . . in somecases I think that that time lag might be an optimistic portrayal.

Anyway, it seems surprising to say that this F.Movie is racist when there are so many other manifestations of overt racism on these baords that go uncommented on . . .

Or it could show every Arab group involved reacting violently.

Thanks, pfflam, for pointing this bit of racist attitude out.

Remember before we went into Afghanistan and we saw bullshit like this idiotic Flash movie about how terrorism would only increase? I do.

Do you know WHY people thought terrorism would increase? The same RACIST logic being used by this flash movie, that thousands o' them angry brown people would suddenly become "rabid fundamentalist", like their animal nature was just waiting to come out.

Well guess what, it didn't boil over. Maybe those brown folks over there aren't violent freaks waiting for an excuse. Just maybe.

The Jews show restraint, the Arabs come out of the woodwork and grow in number like violent rodents.

    Nope, no racism. You're right!
