I have tried every damn brand of electric razor there is, and nothing comes close to my sensor excell. It kills the competition. And as for legs, arms, chest, belly; Electric razors plain and simple suck major donkey ass. I used to try and bodybuild, and found this out the hard way. Stick with the regular razor, and get some great products to shave with. like the men's shavingcream and aftershave from mary kay. Also, shave with the grain using a hot razor blad and your skin not yet washed. Then re-apply the shaving cream and keep your razor hot, then shave against the grain. Do not use pressure when shaving, just glide it across your face. I assure you, you will be more than satisfied with this technique.

On the side note thingy, I made a point to say "shaving cream" rather than leave the "shaving" part out because you all are pervs. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

    Jeez, so many responses.

yeah, during riding season I do about 20-30 miles a day, on average. My average speed is about 20-22mph. I've been hit four times by cars, the first time I didn't shave my legs, and it took off most of the skin on my legs. The ER doctor had to give me a skin grafting lecture just in case. The last three time, not so bad, and I do attribute that to having less hair. Having no hair also makes it easier to clean the injury site, and prevents hair from getting caught in it, bringing dirt into the injury as well.

Unfortunately, last time I got hit, it was from being doored by someone getting out of their car; they opened the door while I was riding by. I've never been hit from behind by a driver. The last time I was doored, the previous three before that was a driving making a left hand turn, not seeing me, and practically hitting me head on. All were in broad daylight.

I digress. So I've heard someone say their electric shaves closer, and someone say their's doesn't come close. Anyone else? I'd probably really be using it for my face, as I plan on having my legs and arms waxxed professionally this summer. I found a place on Newbury St. that will do it relatively cheap, and they waxxed a strip of my arm and it didn't hurt at all, so...

Anyhow, who else uses electric? I was looking at that Braun that self cleans... the 7680?

I tried electric, and I didn't think that it shaved as close.

You might also try one of the hair remover things from <a href="http://www.sharperimage.com/us/en/catalog/productview.jhtml?pid=41350600&pcatid=3&catid=302"; target="_blank">The Sharper Image</a>.

I think there's a Sharper Image in the Prudential Center, if you want to check it out.

I've got the 7526. It's self-cleaning. Does it shave closer? Probably not. But it''s MUCH nicer on my face. My poor skin... I've got a crazy ass beard with hairs growing in multiple directions, so it does a good job dealing with that. After I shave, I need to go over with a regular razor a couple spots that it misses. Nothing big, though. If you have to shave regularly and you have a thick beard, your face will thank you.

yeah, I've actually tried one of those things before. They *really* hurt. Waxing was a more pleasant experience.

    go with throw-away razors.

    costco has them cheap.

i've been hit once by a car. stupid old lady t-boned into me broke my tail bone. hurt like hell. also, since she t-boned me, her front bumper clipped right into my ankle... 16 stitches. caring for stitches on your ankle is sooooo much easier when it's shaved.

i've been shavin since i started almost three years back. even shave during winter now, just got used to it. hairy legs are fugly, even on men.

    i vote for disposable razor.

shaved legs is a good conversation starter with chicks. couple female co-workers even convinced their boyfriends to shave their legs they don't even swim/cycle/dive
