Google is so disgusting! They always want to copy from Apple.
Are you serious? After this keynote? Granted Apple's iOS5 improvements were slick and polished. But there was hardly a new concept in sight. Ideas inspired by Readability, Instapaper, Lockinfo, Mobilenotifier (themsleves inspired by Android), Remember the Milk, on and on....
And you do realize that Google has had an SMS service for a while in Google Voice and an instant messnger in Google Talk right? Combining those with standard messaging was hardly inevitable and has been a requested features on user forums.

Yes!! They'll be copying Apple's new notification system next!!
I hope that's a joke. Because iOS copies androids pull down notification system.
WP7 demoed the unified message hub 2 weeks ago.
Facebook chat, SMS and Messenger, all in the one hub.
There's samsung messaging hub too. Which has existed in samsung galaxy s.
And yeah, an android phone was the first in space!
1) I can imagine auto-orientation in space would suck
2) Gtalk is now apparently in the works in response to iMessage? Even though it's been out for years?
