Just want to say "Howya DOin?"

Hey everyone. Been a while since I've dropped in. I've been using Safari since the keynote and when I tried logging in here a week or so later it wouldn't allow me to. I thought the login system was down again, but I should've just tried Mozilla again. Derrr!

Anyway, I see this forum is a mad-house like always. Hope you all had a great holiday season. I'm just finishing up a retail job I took to make some extra moolah during the holidays. Thank God. What a nightmare retail is - had never actually worked a retail job before. Was always either corporate or independant - both of which have their flaws. Much easier to make money but hard to find interesting work with the former, and vice versa with the latter.

Learned a few things in retail though, and also got a contact that ended up getting me a new job (which was better than any extra money I earned). Hopefully 2003 will be a better year financially for all of us - a steady stock market would help.

So what's new in all of your lives? For a while there I thought maybe Bodhi had gotten married and conceived a child but due diligence demanded that I read the actual post, since this is a Mac forum. But seriously. Let me know how you guys are doing with the job, family life, etc. Think of this as the "Oprah" thread without the annoying music and whiny women.

Mine too, though I had to shift them around in my TIAA-CREF account. They're no longer 100% in stocks. I changed that sometime last year and they're finally back in line. Joy

Ooo. Low blow. The Pens are doing their best to emulate last year's M*A*S*H unit accomplishments. Before their three best defensmen got hurt they were actually doing really well the first 25 games or so. Their power play was unreal until Tarnstrom got hurt (thank you Islanders). Figures as soon as Straka comes back healthy and gets into game shape, three key guys go down.

I don't mind the Devils. Now that Holik is gone they're even more likeable. I wish they still had Arnott or Sykora though. Offense is a little thin. How's "Newy" been playing - I recall he had a slow start. Marty is the man as usual.

The bottom line is long as the Rangers and Islanders miss the playoffs, and as long as the Flyers lose in the secound round to a team with half as much talent, I'm happy. Sad I have to gauge the success of the hockey season by my least favorite teams' failures, but what can ya do?

...OK - this is the part where the rest of you go

    "How YOU DOin?"

I guess my AO threads still suck. One day I will learn what makes a truly great AO thread and I will become a whole person.

    I miss the hockey banter.

I liked Holik though eh was a PITA toeverone on the ice, even his own teammates in practice. He's smart, articulate (moreso than most others in their native tongue) and he actually has skills aside from being a pest. Anyhoo, i'm sure his experience with the R-boys has brought any inflated ego he had back down. Of course, why Trotier hasn't utilized him more is beyond me. In one game, I didn't notice a difference with Sather's approach either.

Newy's been on a minor tear recently, nothing like his MVP/Conn Smythe seasons, but improving. Besides, having yet another forward who can play defense (Bobby who?) works well with Pat's style of play. Gotta love those Cornellians.

Moogs, what is happening man. I thought maybe you were one of the lucky ones, one who had broken free, escaped the mean streets of AI, made a life for yourself. Alas, you can take the boy out of, err, the AI out of, err, shame on you I mean me, err...

You got Dru, that's it. Dumbest move Colorado has made in a long time. I think they'll end up paying for it. And I missed you too, you bender.

Yah? Well I miss the days when the Penguins routinely had more wins than losses. I will say this though: it will be a lot easier to stomach Dallas winning the Cup not that Belfour and Hitchcock are gone. Hatcher is still a bastard but what can you do?

And really, who outside of NY *wouldn't* root for the Mangers and the Fish Sticks to lose? Is there any worse ice than MSG or any more dumpy arena than Nassau Colliseum??

Mmmm. Salt. I could use some of Chicago's finest 'zza myself. Nothing beats Chicago pizza, other than maybe coach Ditka. Final score: Ditka 27, Chicago Pizza 14.

Well I was actually gainfully (or not so gainfully since my salary was laughable) employed for a while there. Plus I have a live-in chic, so I must be *kinda* close to having a life. But the main reason I took the crappy job was to network and find another, which I have. Just haven't started yet; have a few weeks between jobs to get some work / taxes done. And of course, make myself truly whole again by posting in here.

Oh sure I'll disappear again for a while when the new job starts, but rest assured I shall lurk along these shores...waiting to attack.

    *Dooo BE do be Doooo*

Just beware the Penguins. They're like 3 games under .500 and closing fast! Soon they'll trade their second best player for a bag of pucks and THEN the league will see the awesome firepower that is... Dallas. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" />

    [Hank Hill]Boomhauer, that ain't Raht...[/Hank Hill]

And thanks - it's good to be back. I'm feeling all sentimental now. Where's FCiB, I need to pick on someone. Kidding, kidding... Any reside in these hallowed halls shall not be ripped on by me. Or at least not for another day or two. Check me though - back in regular form. Requiring at least three edits to get one post right. What an iTard...
