"Are You Hot?" Are you kidding me?

Okay, I know most beauty pageants are doing the same thing packaged with a different name, but come on!

Can ABC be any more superficial and shallow?

I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with reality television right now. They're coming up with a lot of REALLY stupid ideas to "push the envelope" and continue getting ratings.

*COUGH* "I'm a Celebrity. Get Me Out of Here!" *COUGH*

Maybe the big 4 networks need to mutually agree to stop reality programming for a year. Let it clear out of America's system. We'll appreciate it more when it comes back again.

Hah! even FOX didn't go that low... I saw are you hot for like 30 seconds and kept moving. I'll stick to American Idol or Joe Millionare over stuff like that.

What? The networks are still doing that BS?

I haven't watched network television in such a long time that I could care less. It would take a lot for me to go back to them (and 'reality' TV isn't going to do it).

Actually, I spend much more time watching the news than anything else on TV. I've really cut back on that too.

Give me the internet and video games any day over network TV.

Amen. I watch very little TV nowadays, partially because of reality TV infecting everything. Even the worst sit-com offering of TGIF were more thought provoking and entertaining than 98% of reality TV. The only exceptions being Junkyard Wars and the like of course

I try not to watch that tabloid network reality crap, but whenever roo is over here, or I'm over there, she always wants to watch American Idol, Joe Millionaire, The Real World Las Vegas, etceteras. That or we turn the television onto E!. Like I really care that much about the lives of celebrities.

Anyhow, I've got a TiVo now, so I can record the stuff I want to watch and sit down and watch it at my liesure. Mostly stuff on A&E, History Channel, AMC, etceteras God forbid I actually watch live TV, it's usually CNN...

We dumped TV 4 years ago, and thankgod we got out before reality TV kicked in, its almost as bad as the sims, finding a way to not live a life, but still waste time.

Get rid of cable, and get highspeed internet, its the only solution.

I killed my television in the mid nineties and when I heard about "Survivor" all I could see was Richard Dawson in "The Running Man".

I was visiting my Grandmother (who has a television) with my kids---and saw the ads. I felt like covering my kids eyes---totally irresponsible.

It's almost as if the networks would have us reduce ourselves to walking genitailia.

You must've missed it: most network executives ARE walking genitalia!

That's what I did this year. I haven't regretted at all (except for when I can't watch my heels on t.v. College basketball is my t.v. addiction. It'll be over soon). I don't know how I stomached paying so much for dial-up and cable. Forget that.... Give me broadband and airport and I'm happy.

So I'm actually watching this show again to see how completely pathetic it is, and I'm just amazed.

These people are the most shallow excuses for carbon-based life forms that I've ever seen! They get rejected, and then cry about it!:

"It was hard being rejected, but at least my family and friends still think I'm hot."

What?! Is that what you think is important for your family and friends to think of you? Diluted much?

"It's...(sob)...so hard to have people judge your body and your face."

What did you expect? Really? I mean, come on!

Guy: "To be rejected...it just makes me feel so empty."

    That about sums it up.

No she won't (marry you) because :

a: you are an old thing

b: she post her picture (rather cute) and you not : that's unfair.

I do not watch the "reality" nonsense. American TV has fallen to new lows. I did get Direct TV and I watch much better shows. I like to see real life like house hunters on HGTV or Bargain Hunt on BBC. This idea of reality TV on the main networks has lost me as a viewer. I even like C-Span here and there to see Government in action. I sometimes watch World Link. I watch many things but the big hype mainstream junk I will not bother with.

I am glad I am not the only one.

Wow, FCiB, thanks! We're a humble little family, but we love each other very much. I wish the same for you and your family. Nice house by the way! Your A/V setup in the living room rocks!

    To get back on topic:

It just seems to me like reality TV has gone on too long for its own good now. I really think that America is getting "burned out" on it.

TV networks have come up with so many crazy ideas, that viewers are starting to get turned off by them. Yeah, Joe Millionaire, The Bachelor, and others like them are interesting the first time...just not after that.

But FOX has plans for another Joe Millionaire.

I'm about a "Married By America" away from boycotting reality TV for a while.

For some who allegedly trusts the master plan so damn much, he sure likes to make a lot of requests for divine intervention. Here's a tip...if his god wants something to happen...poof...it happens. It's arrogant to think that his mortal requests actually have bearing on anything.
