This is Samsung's tactic to invalidate or even dismiss a possible counter-counter claim to their17 different patents infringement claims.

Once the judge agrees with the claims, it will only help Samsung's bottom line in getting the ITC to block the importation of Apple's products into the US. The ITC will generally move much faster than the courts itself, making a decision in 16-18 months time.

If the ITC agrees with Samsung, then they will have a block before Apple attempts have its own ITC complaints heard. At that point, this war becomes essentially a MAD ( Mutually Assured Destruction) war strategy by both sides. If ITC agrees with Apple, Samsung will have a ban on its products as well. Both sides will have products that are banned from sale in the US. That means that Motorola and Nokia will take the realm in the smartphone market! HTC have recently been sucked into this mess yet again.

THIS IS LIKE THE COLD WAR!!

That was click bait, what a worthless leading to mundane standard news. Somebody always asks to accelerate a trial and the judge almost always says no. That's just typical.

The judge in denying the accelerated trial is only stating that Apple won't be permanently harmed by not accelerating the trial. Which really means ~Apple is a company and the harm can be fixed by cash judgements in their own due time.

    Nothing to see there...
