Hassan, i've many times enjoyed a good sandwich au saucisson sec du montagne, with little cornichons.

what's the deal with the french and butter on sandwiches? Powerdoc?

    Cornichons, definitely.

Wine, the french take the cake.

    chausson aux pommes, also.

oh, but the british do one thing well: gosling's bermuda black rum.

    with bermudian ginger beer.

    dark and stormy.

heaven in a fizzy, alcoholic glass.

The french can't do fast food natively.

Fast food is a good concept, just not the chain kingpins like McDonalds, Burger Kings, Taco Bells, KFCs, Jack in the Boxs et al. Subways, Taco Del Mars, Baja Freshs, Ivars, etc are examples of fasts foods but vastly better tastes and far healthiers.

Although it might not work so well for boiled beef.

Personaly i do not like butter in my sandwiches, i will prefer only saucisson sec and cornichons.
