    I think it's not possible to calculate all the possible moves in chess. Because one move will allow 21 others choice and an other move will allow you one or even zero 'check mate'. Calculating all the possible moves in chess equals calculating all the possible games in chess.



    However since, the computers are great chess player, i do not play this game anymore : i hate the idear that a human have no chance against a machine. Computers improve every days, not human.

    :confused: I'll make it simple for you. There are 9 moves in normal chess. (Not 3D chess) They are:

    1) Forward

    2) Backward

    3) Left

    4) Right

    5) Forwardish-Right

    6) Forwardish-Left

    7) Backish-Right

    8) Backish-Left

    9) Dump the darn board before your brother beats you.
