RiM is on its last legs as a business phone in North America, but BlackBerry is a very popular phone with teenagers in the rest of the world and is growing fast (you get free messaging without requiring an expensive dataplan) so adding a music service makes a lot of sense.
This exactly what is happening. The only people buying them are teenagers, yet RIM still think of themselves as a business tool. They just don't get it. I actually think this music streaming will help prolong the inevitable. If they ever realize that their market has shifted from business to teens, they might just last.
Or Neil Young or Joni Mitchell or Bryan Adams or Paul Anka or Randy Bachman or Robby Robertson or Gord Downie or Oscar Peterson or Gil Evans or Ronnie Hawkins or K'naan or Diana Krall or k.d. lang or literally HUNDREDS of others most you clowns are too ignorant to even recognize.
What a bunch of parochial buffoons.
I seem to remember many saying the same thing about Apple as they now say about RIM. History shows that those with the biggest and fastest opinions are usually the first to be proven wrong.
