As TBell implied, I don't think Korean consumers are wrong in expecting warranty issues to be handled better. Replacing new with new on a one-month old flawed iPhone isn't unreasonable, nor is a simple refund.
If it says new, then yes. I don't know why the warrantee there even says that. Manufacturers almost take the option of stating that the replacement may be new or refurbished.
Apple needs Samsung so much that they are moving manufacturing of the A6 to TSMC in Taiwan.
