cisco: more power, more features, more capability, higher reliability, manageability

we've deployed over 100,000, if you know what you're doing they're excellent, but overkill for the domestic/smb environment

btw i'm talking about proper cisco, not the linksys stuff

    Yeah. Right!

    Oh, never mind. Probably, then.

But that's completely meaningless for end-users.

The (white, at least. I would imagine the grey one, too, as it's even older) saucer style isn't compatible.

If you still have that old of an Airport you should be strong armed into replacing it. That thing is ancient, way out of warranty and does it even go up to 'g'

So? I want to move terabytes of stuff around, I'm not gonna do it wirelessly.

And N's so far removed from anyone's home Internet service that you don't need anything beyond G if you're only going to use it for that, anyway.

Once I'm able to punch 1080p stuff from my computer to an Apple TV, I'll plug in this brand new, current-model AirPort Extreme I have sitting right beside me in its box.

Until then, the old one's fine.

Loaded iOS 5 unto the iPad then downloaded the AirPort Utility...it is awesome! This is how AirPort Utility should be. The topology diagram is nice. Even lets you easily download older firmwares should you have to do such a thing. Far and beyond easier to use than the AirPort Utility for Mac or Windows (I've used both).
