I will never understand the giant disconnect between allowing a game like this which promotes violence, crime and beating up women and the fact that a naked bum or boob is something we must all be forbidden in case it corrupts our minds. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad and stupid.
The thing is today, almost all video games have some kind of violence. In fact many of the best selling games on the PC/Xbox360/PS3 have violence.
I?m more worried about this not running on my 4th gen touch, they won't be able to continue selling this as the best gaming handheld if the best games start needing the A5.

Tell that to the millions upon millions of iPad 2, iPhone 4S owners?
The A4 powered units will most likely be supported though.

What makes you say that?
This article is basically saying the complete opposite of that. It's only for A5, in other words, iPhone 4S and iPad 2. It makes sense too, as the GPU is far more powerful in those devices and if somebody is going to port a very graphics intensive game, they're going to need all of the power they can get, to make it run nice and smooth.

I think the difference is inherent in biology. Violence is something most children experience before the age of four...hitting, etc. Sex is another story altogether. Whether we like it or not, sex occupies a unique space in the human brain. Question: Who is more likely to incur a psychological issue, the young five year old exposed to halo or Niko running over people with a fire truck, or a five year old seeing porn? It's not a cultural bias. Human beings, even as children, are "designed" to be able to cope with certain amounts of violence and conflict. Most of us wouldn't want a movie like "Drive" being watched by a six year old, but at the very least a six year old understands violence...a six year old doesn't understand sex, and won't for another six years, and even then it is confusing as hell, and quite disruptive and...well, unique. The average nine year old has quite a good understanding of what a punch or a bully is, and has already been cut, bruised, and burned. They get pain. They get violence. Should we protect young children from violence...the best we can, yes. But there is a very unique and pointed difference between exposure to degrees of violence as a child and exposure to sex. Case in point, both myself and all of my guy friends have grown up in a world filled with Friday the 13th movies and violent video games...I was exposed to these at a very young age. Show me the evidence that this has damaged me, or any of my friends. On the other hand, what would have happened to my friends and I had we substituted porn for the violent video games and Diehard before having acquired At Least biological sexual maturity? So, I disagree that sex and violence should be treated equally, no matter what Trey Parker and Matt Stone have to say about it so wittily. The biology and psychology of maturation is pointedly, demonstrably different. No, I wouldn't allow a child to see "Drive" or any Tarantino movie, or Event Horizon, but considering my own upbringing and the lack of damage to the psyche that I've seen in others just like me...I'll bet the farm that exposure to porn before having the biological capacity to experience enjoyment from sex is, at best, problematic. This isn't even taking into account the unique psychology of sex once someone is capable of experiencing it. It is downright confusing, as it should be, considering it is so central to our species. Punching and shooting? Our evolutionary ancestors saw death all the time. Our modern culture "hides" it from them. Kids Get death and fighting, and will mirror their parent's reaction to it. Porn? You're going to have problems. They simply aren't equal.
As far as Apple limiting their apps based on their own moral stance...I may have chosen differently, but as an ardent capitalist I will say...it's their company, their product, and they can do what they want. If I don't like it, I can vote with my dollar somewhere else.
I see sarcasm in what you wrote...but I don't see violence in what the other guy wrote. I see a good sense of humor.
You haven't seen him calling for the nuking of Iranian cities, and laughing at people getting executed or getting the shit kicked out of them in Political Outsider.

If boobs are considered too dangerous an influence for young minds, why is ultra-realistic killing allowable?
GTAIII is hardly "ultra-realistic".
a lot of puritan voices here.
Disgusting.

:Endless whining about how video games are BAD BAD BAD:
Personally I find the GTA really boring, and dislike the crime setting as well. But you guys are just sad.

And look how wonderfully balanced and nonviolent you turned out. Just sayin'.

I think your wrong...
there was no violence, blood or gore in....Pong!
Come on, prove me wrong. That was about as early as video games get, so your "since the the beginning" is not correct.
Can you imagine the awesomeness of that game if the Mortal Kombat team gave it a facelift? "Blue Blip WINS...flawless victory."
Some people felt that way when Apple banned boobs from the App Store.
I thought they banned them cause you can consume for free via safari.

Can't wait to see the iPad 2 version.
