HBO to go would also be my most wanted feature on the appleTV (or airPlay enabled), and I would agree that it is an HBO issue, but still not sure why. While the cable companies would probably fight it, you have to be subscribed to HBO to use it and there are so much content that is not available on over the air HBO. I just want to watch some of the HBO series I have missed (Deadwood, The Wire, Flight of the Concords, etc.). Sure I can, and eventually will, watch it on my iPad, but it would be so much more convenient to watch it on a TV. Also, how can I watch a show and not be able to play on the iPad at the same time.
This is why I dont understand the airplay restriction, I have to be paying a cable company anyway. Is the issue really that I may not rent as many 6.00/mo set top boxes. Time to stop being petty I think.

No Doubt. I agree completely.
FYI- The Wire is awesome. I watched 4 of 5 seasons (on 5th now) via my iPad. But for the 5th season, I just downloaded the torrent and burned it to M4V and am now watching it on my Apple TV.
So there is my workaround- although it shouldn't be that inconvenient.
I'd love for HBO to come after me for "stealing" it via a torrent even though I subscribe to HBO and have for years. That way I can take the news national and get them to offer HBO Go on ATV and change Apple TV forever! One can dream....
