The greatest philanthropic work would be to destroy Microsoft. I have personally seen Windows destroy many, many hundred of thousands of scientific hours of work. We would have flying cars, clean energy and cure to cancer if Windows did not exist.
If I was Mrs Jobs I would start giving the money to charity.
That loud noise is Steve spinning in his grave......
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Steve gave generously to certain groups, but very discreetly. The Woodside school district received a lot of contributions from Steve before the town started dicking him around over the preservation/demolition plans of the Jackling House. Finally, he said "enough is enough" and turned off the money spigot to the schools.
His wife Laureen was even more private than Steve, so it is likely that individually and as a couple, they were involved in other charitable gifting, although it was done very, very quietly.
She will get a pass because she isn't whining about lowering her taxes even though her tax rate is the lowest it has ever been in our Countries history.

What's the point? The world is already 67% overpopulated and all these charity crap just screws up population control.

Was that personally Windows or just the high IQ scientist who forgot to backup?
Oh, she's got a free pass for LIFE from us liberals. She could be smoking cigars made by 6-year old Cuban children dipped in baby Arctic fur seal oil and we'd still worship the Jobs dynasty. Heil!

Yeah for you conservatives both the cigars AND the Cuban children are dipped in baby fur seal oil.
Make no mistake... Steve Jobs' salary might have been $1 per year, but his yearly income was most certainly not. When you own significant amounts of capital, there are lots of ways to generate income that are totally outside the traditional system of wages or salary from employment.

I could't agree more.

If you'd put a long copper wire around him, your comments would generate electricity and solve the energy crisis
Well minus that whole cremation doesn't' leave a body behind bit

Yeah, according to Walter Isaacson, Laureen Powell is one of the smartest and most grounded people he have ever met.
Maybe she wants to keep it because there's a high chance that we can see Reed Paul Jobs in the future.

His son is going to be a doctor. An oncologist.
OBSCENE.
80% of the world population is dying of hunger.
20% of the world has 80% of the wealth.
OBSCENE.
Why not do what Bill Gates and others did?
Let's be real here ... Bill Gates isn't exactly living a paupers life ... just look at his 40,000+ sq floating house in Washington.

Look at what happens in countries where tax avoidance is a national pastime - and I'm not referring to the U.S.
Ms. Powell will be nobody's fool.

To any talk about Steve and Money
Remember ...
Since returning to Apple
He only made $1.00 a year
.
Now ...
The other 99.99% of the 1%
They're on their own
