You do understand that the whole matching program couldn't have been put together overnight. Just because it was announced under Tim Cook's command doesn't mean he thought it up and created it over night. Hell it might have been Steve's idea. And in keeping with Buddhism tenets that Steve would have studied that announcing your charity is not about giving but about your ego and pride, Apple hasn't really hyped the matching program.
Well of course. Steve could have been working on this for the past 30 years and the fact that it was only implemented after he left was a complete co-incidence... and he could have been keeping it to himself because he was such a modest and humble kind of guy.
