I went back and re-read your post... and I still don't understand.
Further, if english is a second language for you, it is difficult for me to understand how you come up with the particular complex construction and phrasing.
Please do not be sorry. The fault is all mine - not yours. Regretfully, I often have a difficult time writing English with brevity in a way that says what I want it to say.
The part you reference in the quote I cannot even begin to distill without making it even longer. Besides, what was written is hardly worth the effort.
And I do appreciate your authentic remarks. I am not offended - just a little embarrassed because I cannot write any better. But remarks like yours only serve to make me practice and try harder next time.
@meh2, I got what you were saying and I think you write very well.
No doubt the analysts were trying to reverse-spin the success of IOS. Their feeble attempt does not deserve to be called an RDF, however. The genius of Jobs' RDF was that it was persuasive. I doubt if the analysis presented in the original article is going to persuade anyone. It just seems delusional.
Also, I think it is fair to say that telecom CEO's are considerably less intimidated by Tim Cook than they were by Steve Jobs. Maybe Tim needs to make an example of someone.
I hope you are wrong about people wasting bandwidth, just to spite the telecoms. I don't think that would result in anything positive.
Not quite... All those platforms faded precisely because of iOS and Android... It's not about lifespan, it's the emergence of innovative competition...
What is the emerging threat to Android and iOS? Windows 8? Not likely...
This is a technical analysis that ignores obvious facts; therefore, it is not very useful..
This is really fun, watching how educated people who understand nothing underlying the thing they are studying, look at some historic charts, use some general business analysis concepts, and think they understand.
They behave exactly like a Cargo Cult tribe. It's not that they are stupid, exactly, it's that they are so utterly clueless they don't even realize how clueless they are.
A dog poop digger has teamed up with a toilet builder to conceptualize the notion that a large porcelain bowl could only hold about ten years of dog crap, peaking after five, an idea that suggests dogs and their fecal matter are approaching their apex at middle age and risk an imminent and smelly decline.
BTW. The underlying technology in Android/iOS is 50 yeas old and its great. Unix is by far the best computer core there is/have ever been. Without Unix we would not have the OSX/iOS/Android revolution.
So the age of the core does not matter.
The world will be a much better place the day MSFT desides to remove the useless Windows core and replace it with a Unix core. MSFT can put their GUI/Metro over the Unix foundation and it would fix many of the problems that Windows have today that cant be fixed including good multithreading, security and how stable the system is.
Unix: 1 billion + devices and computers. 0 viruses. 0 spyware in 50 years.
Windows. 70% of PCs are infected by viruses/spy ware.

Exactly! Well said...
