Trash Troubles

I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the threads. I need to empty the trash, but I am getting an insufficient privleges error. Is there any way to empty it without logging in as root?

    Drag the contents to your desktop, empty the bin. Then drag everything back again and re-empty it. Make sure none of the files you are trying to deleate are open or being used.
