Get used to it. If they're not doing it already, Google will be putting its Android losses (and they're big) onto the P/L of the Moto division to make GOOG numbers look better. I think that's one of the big reasons for the acquisition in the first place.

If the tablets used the valuable patents Motorola is brandishing in front of Apple, Google should reestimate the amount they plan to spend to acquire Motorola. Appears Apple has a better way of achieving whatever the patents were supposed to do and the Motorola patents are as useless as their tablets.

For some reason the Xyboard UI in the article's screenshot looks like the Zune UI. Maybe it's the fonts.

It would be awesome if they had to serve up ads to people who came to view their commercial, in order to help pay for their commercial.

Motorola at least have the guts to publish actual numbers. Samsung on the other hand refused to provide any number at all. They are like the bigmouth school boys who claims to have scored record marks in the exam but refused to show the Report Card.

I refuse to accept "estimates" when we can have actual numbers. There should be laws making it mandatory to "full disclosure" of sales figures. This should stop events like Enron and shut down the stupid "Market Reaserch" companies who made reports sitting on their tables. Now a days publishing stupid outrageous reports attracts a lot of media attention and they are becoming celebreties.

The article on Guardian is spot on - http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...-sales-figures

42 million phones for the TOTAL year, including all their cheapo phones. Apple shift that in a quarter and a bit plus Apple only do smartphones.

I thought the droid handsets were meant to be fab and one of the best sellers, not so much by the looks of it.

I beg to differ, the hardware is actually very nice, its the pitiful selection of apps that has done them in.

All the numbers will be rolled together when GOOG reports. So, Google is about to add $3.5Billion a quarter in revenues with zero profit or small loss. It is going to decimate their overall profit margins

I can't wait to hear the next GOOG quarterly calls to hear Larry try to explain this. I don't think the stock reflects what is about to happen

Apple is announcing numbers from their earnings calls while the other numbers are done by estimating what's been pushed to channels than adding them together. Not quite fair but since few are reporting hard numbers there isn't much else they can do. I'm sure we'll get a revised value soon enough and as always it's the non-Apple numbers that will change racially.

    +1 Agree 100%

Apple sells every iPhone 4S and iPad that they could possibly make and other companies have a problem selling 10% of what they stuffed the channel with.
