In the last quarter alone Apple sold about 36 million A5 and 20 million A4 devices.

Apple is now a chip company and yes we do expect them to come up with a completely new CPU every year

You're missing the point entirely. Whether YOU think that the xbox is better is irrelevant. It's not even particularly relevant that more people buy xbox than Wii. The point is that even with inferior graphics, Nintendo sells millions of Wii devices - and lots and lots of people are happy with them.

The mantra that gaming devices must have uber-performance is just plain wrong. Not everyone wants to play the hottest, latest actions games.

In your opinion and based on the "performance is the only thing that matters" meme.

What you and your 'fps rulez' crowd just don't get is that different people play games for different reasons. What are the top iOS games? Angry Birds....Plants v Zombies...Zombie Farm....Solitaire....And so on. There are plenty of good games that don't require pushing zillions of pixels.

its the 7 version of the arm instruction set.

next version will contain 64 bit instruction set. Dont expect to see a v8 until late next year.

    Cortex A15 is a ARMv7 with 40 bit.

Won't see 64 bit in handsets/tablets for a while --- the 64 bit ARM cpu's are targeted for blade computing/server right now. The battery life would be so bad on handsets/tablets.
