Apple seeds new OS X 10.7.4 build to developers

Apple seeded the latest 11E53 builds of OS X Lion and Lion Server with no known issues on Tuesday, possibly signaling an imminent release of the forthcoming maintenance update.

The update comes one week after Apple seeded build 11E52 which itself rolled out less than two weeks after build 11E46. Because of the shrinking time between dev updates, it is thought that a final version may be pushed out to the public in the near future.

Developers have been asked to concentrate on graphics, iCal, Mail, printing and Time Machine for OS X Lion, while Calendar & Contacts Server, Profile Manager, Server App, Web Server, WebDAV Sharing and ServerAdmin DNS are focuses of the Lion Server seed.

Registered Mac developers can access the update from Apple's Developer Center website.

The 11E53 Delta updates for OS X Lion and Lion Server weigh in at 716.91MB and 202.59MB, respectively, while the Combo updates come in at 1.43GB and 1.51GB.

And we STILL have to wait for 10.8 for basic AirPlay systemwide services that iOS has today, like AirPlay Mirroring...  :(

Hopefully this will fix the major bugs in Mac OS 10.7.3 Server that makes it useless as a file server. In the current state many systems administrators reporting that  Mac OS 10.7.3 Server fails to apply Access Control Lists (ACLs). Mac OS 10.7 came out in July 2011 and April 2012 it STILL isn't fixed. The message this sends to business (mostly creative agencies using Mac OS hardware/software) is "Apple isn't serious about business solutions".

Get 10.7.4 to work with all Microsoft Exchange servers (as iOS devices can), and I'll be a very happy hampster.

    And Mountain Lion DP 3.1.

This oddly hasn't been reported on.

I like the new Do Not Disturb feature but it's not very intuitive. I think it would be better to have a sprocket (or some icon) at the bottom users could click to see other options, or just keep it always on screen at the bottom of the Notifications slider.
