Is it true that Microsoft doesn't know hardware? Not entirely. It has been a dominant maker of mice, webcams and keyboards for decades. It has been making XBoxes for a decade, and its Kinect controller has been sold in millions. If I am not mistaken, it sold faster than the iPad at launch.
Kinect is gaming-console add-on. it didn't redefine mobile computing.
Mice? Keyboards? LOL? Compare these to the hardware Apple's churned out. You'll find the MS' "hardware experience" isn't even in the same galaxy.
And Xboxes . . . like Playstations, except you kept having to return them because they kept breaking.
Zzzz . . .
Maybe the Zune HD? Though no one really cared anyway.
