After having dealt with AT&T's 3G network for the past 3 years, I'm blown away by what I'm getting with the iPhone5 and 4G LTE! Three times faster than my DSL.
Any truth to those stories about people running speed tests over LTE on The New iPad eating all their monthly data plan in a few minutes?
I've never understood where SpeedTest gets off forcing people to download their app to run it. Frigging make your website HTML5…
See the reason their online version is in Flash is because HTML 5 cannot do what it needs to do. A regular browser does not reliably report back the instant that a file is downloaded and the server has no way to determine when an upload was initiated. The server log reports 200 but there are all kinds of issues which I won't go in to. With Flash you are running the application on the client side so you know exactly to the millisecond when the server connected and when the download/upload completed. It just cannot be done with HTML 5 because of sandboxing of Javascript. At least I do not know how to. The only other method would be Java or a native app.
For those who believe the 18% additional pixels on the iPhone 5 aren't significant, consider that from 10-25% (sometimes more) of the iPhone 4/4S display is often consumed by controls and possibly ads. With its taller screen, controls and ads remain the same size on the iPhone 5, and the additional pixels go entirely toward allowing more content to be displayed--often 25%+ or more additional content compared to the iPhone 4/4S.

Mine was just delivered. OMG! What a beauty. So thin and so light. Makes my old iPhone-4 look kind of ugly.
One problem though, using my usual one-handed grip I have a hard time reaching the top corners for the "back" and "next" buttons during the setup process
Exactly why I continue with my 2+ year old 4. 90% of my use is wifi (and 4g doesn't hit my city until December anyway). For what I think is the first time in my tech-obsessed life, I don't feel the "want" to buy this. Unless it breaks, I'll wait and see what 2013 brings.
To those that upgrade, enjoy and post your experiences.
I can understand this . Applemaniac myself, I have bought the iPhone 5, and my two kids have a 4 and a 4s. Although I am sure Apple will issue new appealing models in the future, I think we have reached maturity, and renewal will not be really justified (data transmission speed may increase, but the level reached is already enough, the processor calculation power may increase, but I do not see a need for this). May be the only interesting evolution will be storage capacity (128, 256 GB, more ....).
But I am sure the magic of Apple will again materialize for other product lines ....

Coming from a 3GS (long contracts here in Canada), the iPhone 5 definitely comes close to the original iPhone experience for me. _Everything_ is a delight: the beautiful screen, the look and feel, the processor speed, the camera (love the panorama photos). And the new earphones deliver a much fuller sound than the old ones. Much closer to high-end earphones in my experience, and no ear fatigue.
No complaints so far other than the painful activation experience I've had.

Two dixie-cups and string is faster than any DSL. But nice to see you are getting nice performance with LTE.

What's the ping time with your DSL?

During non-peak usage times 40-42, during peak usage times 80-85.
