This reminds me of the famous story about how Dustin Hoffman, in preparing for his role in "Marathon Man", stayed awake for 72 hours to play his exhausted character as convincingly as possible. His co-star, Sir Laurence Olivier, asked him why he looked so tired and haggard; when Hoffman explained what he'd done, Olivier said "Try *ACTING*, dear boy; it's much easier!"
Pancreas level? Um, what? (Stares blankly) Is that a thing?
"Pancreas level" sounds like something Dr. Nick Riviera would say.
Well, actually yeah Newton, dude. If your liver levels go nuts which they will when you ... like... um... (stares blankly) ... well then you pancreas levels go waaayyy out.
An actor must do whatever he must to find the character he is portraying, but why fruitarianism? How about just parking in handicapped zones, or any of about a thousand other self obsessed obsessive megalomaniacal behavioural traits ascribed to Steve Jobs. Regardless, the fruitarianism clearly didn't work in any deep sense. It seems to have brought him closer to Homer Simpson.
I'm no doctor and I don't want to disrespect SJ memories, but he died from complication of pancreatic cancer which is the organs who control sugar assimilation. As healthful fruits can be, a 100% sugar regime is not healthy, we need just as much proteins and fats in our alimentation, everything is a question of quantity and diversity, fail one and you will see the hospital often. Any radical regime is bad for you in the long run.
This medical moment brought to you by someone who calls himself......BigMac.
But didnt Jobs say on record that he ate more than just fruit? I could be wrong.
Many fruitarians do. If it falls from a tree or comes from a vine above ground they will eat it. So many nuts and seeds count.
And they vary the fruits so not everything makes their insulin levels shoot up. This is probably where Aston messed up. No protein from nuts etc and too much high glycemic fruit at once
Humans are carnivorous. We need at least some meat because it contains iron and other nutrients you can't get from just fruits and vegetables, which is why Steve probably got pancreatic cancer. In my life I have not known one middle-aged vegetarian that lived to be an elderly vegetarian. Ashton obviously didn't talk to a doctor first before changing to such an extreme diet.
This announcement by Kutcher has the whiff of planned marketing about it. Liked he wolfed down only fruit for an entire day and then predictably got the cramps, just so he could "truthfully" say this.
I was there. He sounded as ridiculous in person as he does in the article. He said one thing he learned from studying Steve Jobs was to say 'no' more often (for example, to turn down roles and high-society event invitations that are a burden on him. As if everyone in the audience could relate to having this problem).
The movie wasn't a total failure, but it's no better than a Lifetime movie-of-the-week. I find it hard to believe that it was well received.
This idea that the actors need to enter into the skin of the character they interpret in real life has always been ridiculous to me. I heard many great actors say that it was ridiculous and acting was just a job like any other, no need to pretend to have your life changed because of a part. But if that works for him, fine.

It's not iron that we need from meat the most, but complex proteins.
It's possible to only eat vegetables and eggs, but you really need to like soja beans.
Do you know that the Japanese are about 40 years away from running out of fish? I know I know, citation needed. I saw it on a documentary. Can't remember the name of it.
40 years away of running out of OUR COMMON fish, would be more accurate.
Humans are omnivorous, not carnivorous. They eat "everything" (which is a bit exaggerated as a definition, imho, since all plasmavorous middle aged humans I met died a very fiery death...)
If Steve knew before he died that this complete and utter tosser was going to play him in a biopic. It would probably be enough motivation to stay alive so he could kill the project off first.

I think you mean 'complete' protein. Which means the 8 proteins out of the 22 that dna codes for, that we cannot produce. Lots of things contain complete protein, like potatoes for example. In other words it's possible to live on potatoes, which would also be a good source of carbohydrates which is the main source of currency that our body uses to get the energy to build structures that require energy to put together.

Ashton and steve both have something very important in common. They Both Smoked weed!

A doctor might take issue with your prognosis. :-)

Of course you can. Japan is running out of red tuna for example and the species is going to be extinct if we all continue eating it that much.

Mainly fished in the Mediterranean. In "debated" legal conditions.

"Hi, everybody!"
"Hi, Suddenly Newton!"
"Oh, no! Your pancreas level is too low. We'll have to amputate!"
Due to the lack of use of his brain, Ashton K. will have to be amputated from his head... now, that's bad. Isn't it?
