and rectangular tables arranged in a line in the middle of the store parallel to the walls and extending from the storefront to the back of the store.
Wouldn't any stores with rectangular tables generally line them up parallel to the walls and throughout the store? I love Apple, but they should not have been able to trademark these aspects of the store design. They shouldn't have been able to trademark cantilievered shelves either. Stores have been doing this for decades.
Even if a direct competitor creates a store with lighted displays on the walls and parsons tables to display hardware, so what? If a store has similar tables and shelves, but has carpeting, does it violate the Apple design?
That's what I thought. This is getting to be a bit much. They really should invest their time into making the next big thing for their fans. So much energy spent on this - just seems pointless.
I presume the 2-row table isn't mandatory; my town is getting an Apple store and I don't think there's enough space. Though difficult to tell for you guys from just pics:

It is a "Trademark" not a patent.
