Apple on Tuesday rolled out an update to its Apple Store app, bringing in-store availability checks and different per-item delivery options for a single order.

Version 2.5 of the Apple Store app adds just two enhancements to the company's iOS shopping portal, with the additions further streamlining the already largely automated purchasing process.

The new app version now taps into Apple's supply chain data for its brick-and-mortar locations, allowing users to see if a given product is available for in-store pickup on the fly. For now, the feature is limited to the U.S.

As for the the per-item delivery options, users can now opt to change the delivery method for each purchased product for a single purchase. For example, if a user is buying a new Mac and an iPad, but wants to pick up the iPad immediately, they can do so at a nearby Apple Retail Store and have the computer shipped to their house.

The newly updated Apple Store app is a free 5.9MB download from the App Store.

Neat. Port it to work better on iPad. Please add functionality to purchase more than one item at a time while doing the in-store thing.

They are radio buttons. It's just a different look for them.
