... But, waiting for Apple to do it first, so that we can copy it.  We are ready with all prototypes to show it to jury if at all Apple files case again.

LoL So this is the solution: create some buzz and hype about an utterly useless but incredibly expensive product that apple is never ever going to even think about and Samsung will "counter" it sinking all their money. Problem solved ;-) I vote time travel. Or warp drive.

I don't think the concept is utterly useless, nor does it have to be incredibly expensive. The Pebble Watch is a reasonable first step and I can picture ways that it might be very useful.

Samsung is probably not waiting to copy Apple but rather to ride on its launch and marketing coat tails. As long as they keep copying Apple (more or less) they become the de facto Apple alternative. Its a low life strategy but its working well for them.

    Still, I suspect...

    And yes... ;)

I really have a hard time with this 'watch'.

I wasn't referring to the specific idea if the watch. Just observing: rumors about an Apple TV surface and Samsung is desperately "countering" by releasing their "smart tv". Now same for the watch. So this is where the strategy me ruined above comes into play.

If AppleInsider continues to whore their website to Samsung articles I predict a steady defection of readers. I've already removed it from my Feedly account...
Yup. I'm trying to give it a chance though, but I think your right.

This is simply a preemptive strike, an attempt by Samsung to spread FUD--fear, uncertainty, doubt--about Apple's supposed product. The goal isn't to make a product, but to have people think, "Aha! Samsung is going to make the same thing, or close enough, that is cheaper and/or better. I'd better not buy one from Apple. I'll wait until Samsung's comes out." In short, they're trying to deny Apple sales and profits. They don't even have to be making such a product.

Microsoft was the master of spreading FUD. Numerous companies fell to this marketing method.

Kind of like when there were many phones on the market and "Even a couple of Samsung" phones.  Apple entered the market and changed everything.  Apple may or may not enter this market, but if they did, it would change the whole market for that type of watch.

But go ahead, be first.  No one cares.

Oh, they're not going to be first. Samsung doesn't do 'first'.

Google Glass is gong to be a failure.  Trust me, it's not going to go over well. It's getting hyped and I don't know of too many people that actually want it.  I see it selling to a very small group of people and I think that there will be a lot of opposition to accepting people wearing these things in a lot of situations and people aren't going to want to constantly put these things on and take them off throughout the day because it's just one more thing to deal with.  They aren't a necessity type product.

Watches are something that can easily be worn and people won't have to take them off throughout the day as long as the battery lasts a while between recharges.

It's just a matter of functionality and style.

I disagree. Glass in its current form isn't going to set the market on fire, but computerized glasses are definitely going to be popular in the future. They are probably going to replace phones as we know them.

It should be the other way around. Apple just waiting for Samsung's watch to finalize their own design. Also, Apple is taking so long copying from Samsung's smart LED TV.

Exactly. Apple is waiting for Sammy to show them what NOT to do.
