Review: Pebble smart watch is worth the hype

It's neat. Apple might enter the market too. But if they do, I tend to think it will be another "hobby to see where it leads" like Apple TV. It won't be revolutionary and it won't be meant to. Not at first.

 

I could be wrong; and apps could make the difference. (Just as they could with AppleTV)

Sorry. Wish I could share the enthusiasm but it fails. I am a kickstarter backer who got my Pebble this week. My wife has been using it all week with her 4S running 6.1.3. It drains her battery by 3pm even though she hardly uses the phone. It often disconnects and fails to reconnect even when the phone is sitting right in her lap. Calls and texts come in and even with the Pebble on her wrist and the phone in her pocket or purse half do not show on the Pebble. When it works its great. But so intermittent and unreliable as to pretty much be useless for real life use. With new ones in the horizon from Apple, Samsung and now today announcements from LG and speculation one from Google too, this one is destine for the trash bin in 3-4 months. We're still waiting on a red one. Hope
it comes soon so I can get as much as I can for it on eBay before the hype ends...

Was one of the earliest to order. Ordered a red pebble on Kickstarter. Waited. Watched the later people get their watches first. Waited. Waited. Gave up waiting. Changed to a black pebble. Delivery tracking number did not work. Finally got the watch. Should have just picked up a pebble from the beach.
